Today the whole world is plagued by the scourge of coronavirus. The coronavirus has caused a stir around the world. Its ill effects are not only on the economy but also on people's way of life, social system etc. Its effects are far-reaching and far-reaching. Every country in the world we look at has seen a number of changes in the economic system, starting with the way people live. Today's week's question of EcoTrain QOTW is relevant and contemporary.

So today I will highlight some of the cases of corona virus in the context of Bangladesh.

The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka and the city of Dhaka is home to 1.5 crore people. Even though the size of Dhaka is much smaller than the size of Bangladesh, this small town is very densely populated. Many people live in this small town. One of the major problems in Bangladesh is traffic congestion which is most noticeable in Dhaka city and the main reason for this is overcrowding. Due to the fact that people come to Dhaka in need, all the activities of the country are Dhaka-centric, that is, the country's economy, politics and socio-politics are all centered around Dhaka.

This time due to the Corona situation we have seen that many people have left Dhaka and returned to the village. The main reason for this is that people used to go to Dhaka in search of livelihood but due to the Corona situation many are losing their jobs, some have lost business, some are no longer able to survive. That is why it is impossible to rent a house in Dhaka and meet the living expenses. Many are returning to their village homes. Most of the people who have houses in Dhaka are living in villages but I have already said that they are living in Dhaka in search of livelihood and need. Due to the Corona situation, economic collapse, layoffs and loss of business have forced people to return to the village. And coming back to the village seems to be again involved in work like farming or going abroad. However, after coming from Dhaka, people are developing the habit of living in the pleasant environment of the village.

Where a competition for luxury was observed, today everyone is in a dilemma as to when his work, factory, job, business will be. Everyone is spending the day in a state of anxiety. At the same time, it is being noticed that as the days go by, many people are going to the villages frustrated as they do not see any possibility of overcoming the situation. People without good companies or government jobs are in a lot of trouble. But that is not because there is no concern among the government people because the overall economic and social system of a country all depends on the activities and well-being of the common people.

The thing that has worked the most in Corona's situation is that it has reduced the dependence of people on people. In other words, everyone has understood that one should try to become self-reliant without relying on any company or organization. And this time it has happened in Corona situation. We have seen in newspapers and on TV channels that the educated unemployed or the youth have started working on different types of new technological agricultural products. Many unemployed and educated youth are cultivating fish in bioflock method while others are trying to become an entrepreneur by spreading new agro-based technology products in the villages. And it is a very good thing and initiative that awareness is coming among the people and the focus is on agro-based industries.

The more the focus is on agro-based industries, the more economically stable and prosperous the country will be because self-sufficiency in food is a big issue. Being involved in agro-based industries means being around nature and this work will play a big role in meeting the food needs of the growing population in the future.

Given the opportunity to come to the village, many have used it and enjoyed it in many ways. For Example, I was at home for a long time due to severe situation i.e. at home in the village. And I have undertaken several projects there.

  • First, the project of fish farming in bioflock method.
  • Secondly, the project of cultivating vegetables on the roof of the house and
  • Thirdly, planting trees in the space around the house by planning in sufficient space.

And it feels great to be able to do these things over a long period of time, about 4/5 months, and start the project.

We feel good when we are involved in such work because nature simply gives us so many things. As we get closer to nature, nature teaches us how to struggle and survive in life. And getting closer to nature means getting involved in agro-based industries.

So, I think the Corona situation is an education and inspiration for us in that context of off grid.
