Welcome back to another instalment of the ecoTrain Question Of The Week! This week we look at how times have changed.. with a focus on the people that we all think are most relevant to our modern age. We are speaking about everything from politics to movies to influential people. It wasn’t long ago that we had a very limited choice as to the people we even knew. Most of us looked to our teachers, our politicians, our media, and of course our friends and family. Today with the advent of the internet and YouTube things have changed a lot, and we now have a huge number of people that we may consider to be more relevant to our lives. The most striking of these changes is You tubers and vloggers. I watched them rise to fame one by one until one day they started becoming more popular and influential than our most great TV personalities. These youtubers were much more like the general normal person and I think that helped most people to relate to them better. I have to be honest, i am more likely to agree and resonate with a good vlogger than I will any news anchor or politician.
So who do you think are the most relevant people of our times? Do you think our current politicians and our system is relevant to you, or are there other people you pay attention to? Are Hollywood actors the people we look up to, or is it netflix stars.. or neither? Maybe its the smaller and more independent people who you connect with. There are some vloggers like Casey Neistat and Mr Beast who are more relevant to many kids than any famous star that’s for sure!
It would be great if you can mention what country you are in and your approximate age when you post. This will help us to understand how these factors may affect how you respond.
Also please feel free, as always, to post about any aspect of this question or any broader topics that may be of interest. One example is how the balance of power is shifting from TV and Radio to other media like YouTube and .. Hive of course! Our world is changing quickly and people with great wealth are no doubt of great importance. One example is Elon Musk who is creating huge changes for our planet and beyond. Perhaps it is the most wealthy people who are the most relevant today, as they seem to have all the power and influence. This is a great topic to dive into and there are a lot of different things we can focus on.
