EcoTrain Qotw S10.7: "Are Activists Who Inconvenience The General Public Justified?"

There are certain things I don't believe in, and one of them is the idea around climate change. Nothing is constant and that's the reason behind the inconsistency in the climate. Activists on the other hand fight for what they believe in and the fight could take different forms. Personally, I don't support inconveniencing other individuals over a belief that is not general. Just because some group of individuals believe climate change is a result of what we do, eat, and don't do shouldn't inconvenience the other group of people who don't share the same belief.

The actions of activists especially on a matter that doesn't share a general belief ought to be targeted to the government and not the people, because at the end, it's the people who suffer and not the government who have the power to change the law. I have witnessed a lot of protests in my area over matters that concern a group of people, they respond by blocking roads, or refusing to sell and this response usually affects the masses who either have the same concern or not. I believe in sensitization or awareness especially if there's enough proof to show and not inconveniencing others.

Sometimes I encourage a protest that challenges people who have answers to what they seek. The general public may not have the ultimate power to decide what happens or not, the general public are common men like the activists who are handicaps to the current situations, so why inconvenience them the most by bringing their cry to the people hoping for the government to intervene. I believe there could be a better way to fight for what we want, inconveniencing the general public cannot be justified as long as it could cause others discomfort or probably some loss.

I have witnessed a protest that happened some years ago. Instead of the affected party taking their grievances to the general public, they went straight to the office to which their grievances were with. I believe they understood better not to inconvenience others with their peace but to face people who were in position to answer their plea. Just like a husband complaining to his wife about his work to his wife can't change anything, so do most protest that inconvenience others. Finally, as long as the general public isn't in support of what the activists are fighting for, inconveniencing others can not be justified.
