Law-Endorsement

I recently wrote about how in the United States of America it often seems that personal property is valued over human lives in For The Love Of Stuff.... This becomes apparent in this much used excuse to justify violence of law-enforcement against the protesters: "They were looting!" As if that justifies shooting someone...

It's the same excuse used to defend the 17 year old terrorist Kyle Rittenhouse who killed two protesters while "protecting private property". Trump, the wannabee fascist hero of the people, grabs with both hands the opportunity to demonize the leftist protesters, who just use their freedom of speech to demand basic rights and police-accountability, as far left extremist terrorists because they loot and destroy private property. That's insane. And what's even more insane is that I even feel the urge to write this down in a post, because hordes of people seem to believe this isn't insane at all, and that the protesters deserve the treatment they're getting. Sure there will be some looters, some individuals who use these chaotic circumstances to steal, but they're the far minority. Also these acts of stealing, destroying and looting are often committed by undercover agents or far right misfits who deliberately throw gasoline on the fire in their attempts to smear the leftist activists. This has been done many times before, like during the Occupy Wall Street protests or the many protests against the G7 and G8 conferences, it's known and a well tested tactic to smear leftist activists. But even granting that some of the protesters steal and loot, that doesn't justify (lethal) violence against them, not by law-enforcement and certainly not by self-appointed vigilantes. Only if you really value property over life, can such a skewed, disproportionate and crazy weiging of life against property be explained.

I'll keep it short today, as I have a lot to do still, and invite you to watch the video by Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp. He discusses 7 Stupid Arguments To Defend The Cops, among which are "he could have had a gun" and "he had a knife"; those are also not justifications to shoot and / or kill someone. There is a serious problem with police in America; as Lee rightly mentions, because of this huge problem we regularly read and hear about innocent people being shot just because they reached for an ID or driver's license. But only in America, that I know of; this doesn't happen in Europe as often because here not every individual has the right to carry a gun... Maybe something to think about. But watch the video; it's got a lot more stupid excuses to ponder on.
