The political right, the far right and the loser "centrists" are doing everything they can to criminalize the leftist and progressive protests in the mind of the general public. The latest attempt to this effect comes from Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who proposed a list of reforms that target protesters. While this is being debated, mainly online, news breaks that Trump only paid 750 dollars in taxes in 2016 and 2017...

Let's be totally clear about this; disdain for dissent is disdain for democracy, disdain for speaking truth to power and disdain for changing the status quo. It should come as no surprise then that the attempts to shut up the voices of progressives, who make outrageous demands like justice for the black lives lost to racialized violence at the hands of law enforcement, come from conservatives, from the political right. And it should come as no surprise that they're backed by the bought and paid for "centrists" who fear loss of their cozy place in the suburbs; you know, the ones who rhetorically support progressive policies, but suddenly align with "Blue Lives Matter" movements when the police rid their lofty white picket fence neighborhood of the homeless that spoil their view and devalue their houses.
Right wing outlets in the mainstream as well as online have done nothing but demonize protesters and smeared them as socialists and communists, and their followers can't even see how they contradict themselves while doing so; they'll call BLM a Marxist organisation in one sentence, followed by a sentence in which they speak of BLM Incorporated, implying that it's well funded by corporate powers. These are the same delusional people who actually believe that communism is a far left conspiracy, and that the far leftists behind it are the billionaire corporatists. If you are able to believe that these billionaires are communists instead of the capitalists they really are, you've been truly brainwashed to the point that there's no hope of ever seeing reality as it exists ever again.

These same people will react to the revelation that Trump, the supposed billionaire, only paid 750 dollar in taxes in the years 2016 and 2017, and 0 dollar in previous years, as follows: "Did he break any laws? I mean if he didn't, it's really not an issue, because there are a lot of millionaires and billionaires who don't pay extra income taxes if they can legally do it. Hell I even try to pay less tax too. How about you?" Or they'll just repeat Trump and say it's "Fake News". They'll defend their strongman savior using the same old tried and tested right wing talking points that got us all in this late stage capitalist dystopia in the first place. They'll apply the sociopath egocentrism they've let their corporate heroes normalize in their minds, to the defense of the system in which they hope to make it big themselves one day, and they'll be completely oblivious to the fact that that's what they're doing. They'll never own up to the truth, namely that this perverted ideology is what transformed the American Dream to the American Waking Nightmare.

People in the capitalist class have come accustomed to being able to do as they please and to always get away with it because they are the ruling class. This is why it's frustrating to no end when regular citizens celebrate this man when he introduces even more tax cuts, and actually believe he does it for their benefit. Trump never had any intention to "drain the swamp", he literally IS that swamp. And his presidency has made it so that society's deplorables have come floating to the surface as well; just yesterday I saw a protest organized by the white supremacist Proud Boys where they promised to "safeguard" the integrity of the November elections by guarding polling booths with their armed presence. Meanwhile Trump still refuses to guarantee a peaceful transition of power if he loses the November elections and continues to repeat over and over again that these elections will be rigged and that the mail-in ballots aren't to be trusted under any circumstances. And the Democrats? Where are they in all of this..? You've guessed it: nowhere. They don't deserve to win in November as well, but as things stand now they are the only line of defense against this fascist authoritarian madman who puts into practice the ruling elite's disdain for dissent. May the wiser heads prevail...
