"Paradise Lost"....
I have seen and read a little from John Milton's book.
I knew some interesting people while living in Darmstadt, Deutschland - who held this book as almost holy.
BTW.. Darmstadt is a place that they still print "Paradise Lost"..
Anyways...
About Your observations of humanity, and the current social situation - You could not be more correct.
We live in a society where rich girls cut holes in their clothes to "mock" the poor.
And worse, society sees it as fashion - as long as Your not poor with holes in Your clothes...
A sign of "madness and sadness" mixed together....
Where does it go from here?
Undoubtedly, mankind will continue, until it no longer can - worshipping some firm of material manifestation that puts them above the others. I believe this trait is "hardwired" in to most. Living be the rule (secretly) that I only feel good by proving I have pushed down others. Otherwise My position has no value.
I believe Myself (and it has taken awhile to get there), that the key is maybe this....
The "Sleigh Ride" to hell is somewhat (for the species) unavoidable. The best that can be done, is to "prepare Yourself", on all fronts.
Consider what an "aftermath" looks like, when all the dogma is stripped away.
Think about those around You, and think about what they will do. And this is because, no one knows when the crash will occur - but when it does, it's going to be too late to figure out what You don't already know...
