I'm not a fan of horror movies. They scared me a lot when I was younger, and sometimes they still do. I think they're made to make money by preying on the fears of young women and girls who are then accompanied by their boyfriends or husbands to hold them during the scary scenes. *Lifeforce*, a science-fiction horror film from 1985, is one of the few horror movies that I don't mind watching from time to time. The reason for this is that it has a lot of screen time devoted to a beautiful young woman with a great body who is shown in the nude. Yes, sir, 1985 was a time when hot actresses weren't yet affected by the trend of plastic surgery and silicone implants that is so disgustingly common among women celebrities of today.

The Compelling Plot

The plot of the movie involves a group of astronauts who stumble upon a strange alien ship while on a mission to Haley's comet. Inside, they find three beings suspended in crystal caskets, two males and one female. They bring the beings back to Earth, but soon after, communication is lost. A rescue team is sent to investigate and discovers that the three beings have woken up and are now walking around like zombies, draining the life force from humans and acting as space vampires.

The film effects and music

The special effects used to depict the human bodies after they have had their lifeforce sucked out by the space vampires, were achieved without the use of modern computer graphics. The result is a disturbing, realistic-looking appearance. However, the overly flashy light effects during the climax of the film may be too intense for some viewers.

The soundtrack was quite enjoyable for a film released in the 1980s.

The Nudity

One of the strongest points of the movie is Mathilda May's performance as the space vampire, who is almost always naked. May, who was relatively new to the acting scene at the time, is so eye-catching in the role and adds a lot of hotness to the movie.

My Verdict

While the film starts out with some interesting concepts and good special effects, it eventually devolves into a cheesy and poorly executed mess. Despite this, there are still some reasons to check Lifeforce out, such as the early special effects, and the standout performance by Mathilda May in all her naked glory.
