The biologists and volunteers at Mote Aquarium have been saving and caring for endangered, seriously injured, and abandoned animals since I was a kid (and even before that). I do not agree with caging animals, although in this instance most of the animals here were not able to survive on their own in the wild. Some are being rehabilitated for re-release, while others have conditions where they must be taken care of by humans for the rest of their days, if they are to survive (like a giant turtle we met with a broken jaw bone).
There are so many amazingly beautiful and unique creatures I recorded in this video, including a group of otters that were abandoned by their mothers (cutest creatures I have ever seen in my life - I described them as "water-ferrets"), bioluminescent jellyfish being repopulated (I caught 2 of them mating on camera in the video!), and a deceased Giant Squid on display in what looked to be a sort of "coffin" - which was honestly a little creepy haha. There are also sharks, sting rays, and a plethora of other amazing fish, many of which you may have never seen before... and yes there is the Finding Nemo & Dori fish as well.
I haven't been to this place since the last time my parents took me on vacation to Long Boat Key in Florida when I was about 8 years old. I also have not seen my father in almost 8 years, so this excursion with my father, my lady, and one of my best friends was fitting and extremely nostalgic for me. I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed the in-person experience (video below). I don't know if there is more of a Deep Dive than this... aside form literal diving.
