District primary election results.

Resultados de las elecciones primarias del distrito.

Election year, a year that represents the opportunity for the population to show their true opinion by voting. In my country #Venezuela despite the different mistakes of the past by the political parties that go against the current government, it was decided by the different leaders at national, regional and district level that they would be held last Sunday, September 12. A process that took time of campaign on the part of the opposition candidates that at the beginning of the nominations, with the passing of the campaign time for these primaries three of them resigned giving their support to other candidates who were registered or simply withdrawing from the race.

The three candidates who remained participating in this primary process were Enrique Camero for COPEI, Geraldine Camacho for MAS and Valentin Duran for AD; all parties belonging to the democratic alliance which seeks to draw unique candidates to face next November 21 in the next mayoral and gubernatorial elections. Since days before the beginning of this process, the different political teams prepared their machines so that the event would take place in the best possible way and that the most suitable to be the only representative of the opposition according to the inhabitants of the district would be chosen.

Año de elecciones, un año que representa la oportunidad de que la población demuestre su verdadera opinión mediante el voto. En mi país #Venezuela pese a los diferentes errores del pasado por parte de los partidos políticos que van en contra del gobierno actual, se decidió por parte de los diferentes dirigentes a nivel nacional, regional y distrital que se harían el pasado domingo 12 de septiembre. Un proceso que llevo tiempo de campaña por parte de los candidatos de oposición que al comenzarse las postulaciones, con el pasar del tiempo de campaña para estas primarias tres de ellos dimitieron entregando su apoyo a otros candidatos que estaban inscritos o simplemente retirándose de la contienda.

The day began early for the table members and collaborators of the different political parties, before the sun had finished peeking through the mountains, the different electoral centers were already enabled and with their respective witnesses and coordinators for the different parties whose candidates were already beginning to tour their communities to call the people because the day had arrived. The day went smoothly in general, without major conflicts that could be highlighted beyond the typical impasses for an election where we all want our candidate to be the winner.

Los tres candidatos que quedaron participando en este proceso primario fueron Enrique Camero por COPEI, Geraldine Camacho por el MAS y Valentín Duran por AD; todos partidos pertenecientes a la alianza democrática la cual busca sacar candidatos únicos para enfrentarse el próximo 21 de noviembre en las próximas elecciones tanto de alcaldía como de gobernación. Desde días antes de comenzar este proceso los diferentes equipos políticos prepararon sus maquinarias para que el evento transcurriera de la mejor forma posible y que el mas apto para ser el representante único de la oposición según los habitantes del distrito fuera escogido.

At the end of the afternoon, when the votes had been counted and people were holding their breath, one by one the results were coming out, which little by little made it clear that the winner of this election would be Valentin Duran by a very marked difference, obtaining 54% of the total votes while the other 46% was divided between the other two candidates whose difference between them was minimal. Now with a representative already decided, it only remains to agree on how the government adjustments will be made so that the three can agree on how the campaign will be managed from now on. Soon we will inform you about the progress of this campaign already unified by the democratic alliance.

El día comenzó temprano para los miembros de mesa y colaboradores de las diferentes toldas políticas, antes de que el sol terminara de asomarse por las montañas, los diferentes centros electorales ya estaban habilitados y con sus respectivos testigos y coordinadores par parte de los diferentes partidos cuyos candidatos ya comenzaban a recorrer sus comunidades para llamar a las personas porque había llegado el día. El día transcurrio de forma llevadera a nivel general, sin conflictos mayores que puedan resaltarse mas allá de los impaces típicos para una elección donde todos queremos que nuestro candidato sea el ganador.

Al final de la tarde, cuando los votos habían sido contados y las personas contenían la respiración, uno a uno los resultados fueron saliendo, que poco a poco dejaban en claro que el ganador de estas elecciones seria Valentín Duran por una diferencia muy marcada, obteniendo el 54% de los votos totales mientras que el otro 46% era repartido entre los otros dos candidatos cuya diferencia entre si fue mínima. Ahora con un representante ya decidido, solo queda acordar como se harán los ajustes de gobierno para que los tres se pongan de acuerdo en como se manejara la campaña a partir de ahora. Pronto les informaremos los avances sobre esta campaña ya unificada por parte de la alianza democrática.
