From my point of view I define values as a series of regulations that are given to us in life to obtain a good conduct in the course of our days, which leads us to improve our attitudes and behaviors towards ourselves and others, that is, values are those who define us in our society as good or bad people.

The sowing of values in our children starts at home and is reinforced by our teachers in their magical classrooms. We must keep in mind that our children are like a sponge that absorbs everything, therefore, the upbringing they receive at home is what they will reflect in schools and in our classrooms.

As parents we must make sure to foster a solid foundation in our children on this subject, since what we sow in them is what we will reap in the future.

One of the main essential values in children and adults is self-esteem because it is the one that is responsible for us to love and accept ourselves as we are, that we value ourselves more as people and we are interested in the problems that others around us are crossing, we must feel empathy and awareness with the problems of our peers, friends, neighbors and family and if we can find the solution we will gladly help them.

Now I would like to share with you from my perspective as a teacher in the area of early childhood education some recommendations for educating values in our children at home.

1.- Read them stories and stories:

This way we highlight the values that have their protagonists because for them they are like super heroes and they will want to imitate them. In addition, we would also be working on their interest in reading and writing from an early age.

2.- Offer them some examples of our lives where some values are reflected:

An example of them is to be charitable with the needy, to share some of our things and to serve as an example for them. Other values of utmost importance that should be transmitted to our children are respect for the elderly and their friends, honesty, that is, not to take anything from somewhere without first asking permission, tolerance and responsibility, the latter two being more worked from school in their classrooms.

3. As parents it is our responsibility:

To teach our children from a very young age the values that they should follow to be good people in the future, we must use clear language and provide a justification of why it is considered that this should not be done or that it can be done, since children are carried away by their feelings and emotions. Parents, teachers and environment must intervene in this process.

4. Talk in a clear and simple way what each value means:

That is, we can not tell our child if you are disrespectful, without first having talked about what respect is or if you are intolerant with your friends without them knowing what these words are part of a chain of values, it is advisable to read some story or moral where some of these examples are evident, so that the child can form a clearer idea of what the values are about.

5. Give them all our support:

Since with this, they will feel more confident, they will see us as their guide and role model, in this way we will be educating them on how to react to certain situations that they may be going through in life.

Mom, Dad, let's remember that sowing values in our children is a very significant task which will leave traces in them for the rest of their lives.
