The Final part is here! Thank you, everybody, for tuning in to my last post about this English class for my Thai students. It's been Part 1 - Morning Class and Part 2 - The Preparation for the Runway so far and I'm happy to share what I love about my work with you hivers.
The sneak peek of the models from the runway.
Our main stage/runway was set up at WanWan Coffee roaster, our welcoming neighbor, whose coffee is so good you guys. Here we got our runway (and the audience) ready.
To be the winning team of today, they had to work in groups alongside their mentor to create 2 looks with the lowest budget. And... the runway will begin in 3..... 2... 1.. Gooo~
Start with our mentors! To show us all how it's professionally done.
Mentor May just did this super ordinary boring walk with a cartwheel. 😆
For the concept and creativity, each group was given an extra special item, which must be included in the outfit.
The first category for the runway is ...
...Gala Dinner at Bar-B-Que restaurant. The concept is mixing expensive clothing tastes with local Thai food places, which can be interpreted as quite contrasting and funny since we Thai all know how this kind of Bar-B-Que is known for low-budget food.
And here is what each team had created.
Team Mentor Grace, our little one here is wearing an oversize suit jacket, matching mini-skirt, and the water pistol, which is (obviously) the extra item. The team said this water pistol is for spraying the sauce over the Bar-B-Que. hahaha There goes the creativity! 🙌
Team Mentor Karn is also sending a model to present the nicely-matching outfit with an under-shirt beneath. I love how the team interprets a dress that is exactly what to wear for a gala dinner. And the special item is the outstanding pink umbrella.
From Team Mentor Noon is a boy with a nice jacket, a bucket hat, and pants. When he was in front of the judge, he said "I'm so rich, I'm gonna pay for all your dinner." 😆
And from Team Mentor May is this chic student, who's not afraid to wear a dress and a skirt. The concept is "Clothes have no gender" Oh my god, I love it so much not only how they embrace the idea but they put it on to make a bold statement. there you go, my boy!
The narrator of Team Mentor May
That's the first category, now comes the 2nd one, which is...
Elephantza Extravaganza. The concept behind this is that when a tourist comes to Thailand, they love this elephants pants, which is totally understandable because it's beyond comfortable and breezy, perfect for Thai weather. So, I challenge them to make it Extravagant! Again with my idea of making it luxurious on a budget.
Kicking things off with Team Mentor Grace He turned a dress into a shirt and topped it off with a coat. When he walked the runway, he requested a metal song, because he wanted to walk with a poker face to keep it cool and high-fashion. Great job!
2nd team to walk down the runway is Team Mentor Karn. This stylish guy who amazingly matches the color black and gold so nicely (and even with a special object like an umbrella too!, I swear I didn't give it to this team on purpose.).
Now team Mentor Noon with this beautiful girl. She presented her outfit as Sexy Zuza Elephantza Extravaganza. The spaghetti pink sparkling top with a colorful handbag parrot. I want one!
Team Mentor May send this young lady filled with an attitude of confidence. White tops match the pants and the brown handbag just popped out of the outfit.
Here are some more photos of those good times on the runway.
I get to walk too! haha Felt so good 😁
Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for. Time to announce the winner between the top 2 teams: Team May and Team Karn. Hahah I made them hold hands like when they do in the pageant.
It was such a long but very very rewarding day. I was so honored to see everyone smiled, laugh and have a great day during my English class. I hope that they get to have fun, learning new things and getting inspired by everybody around them.
The most important is that I gave all this credit to the super team! Without you guys this day couldn't be pulled off. You all are the greatest supporters! I couldn't honestly ask for more. Thank you ❤️
Lastly, Thank you all readers for reading and sharing this experience with me through this post and hope to see you again :)
