The lecturers and students of the Department of Development Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Malikussaleh conducted socialization and promotion of the department to SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 2 Bireuen.

In an activity labeled "Saweu Sikula", Saturday, February 2, 20211, lecturers and students introduced the Development Economics Department to students in both schools.

"We explained the advantages of the EKP Department and Universitas Malikussaleh to students of SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 2 Bireuen," said Devi Andriyani as team leader, Sunday (7/2/2021).

According to Devi, they explained a number of reasons why they should study at Malikussaleh University, especially in the Development Economics Department. In addition to the teaching staff, most of whom are doctors and even professors, the EKP Department has collaborated with a number of institutions, both government and private.

In addition, there is a student creativity center that can be followed according to their respective talents and interests. The students are also involved in various studies by lecturers.

"This collaboration is in accordance with the concept of the Freedom Curriculum to provide experience, competence, and networking to alumni," said Devi who is also an alumnus of SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen.

Devi and EKP students at Universitas Malikussaleh also explained a number of scholarships that can be obtained while studying at EKP, both for underprivileged student scholarships and high-achieving students.

“The students are very enthusiastic about the socialization and promotion. Moreover, according to them, so far there has been no such activity, ”added the Secretary of the EKP Department of Universitas Malikussaleh.

A number of students also participated in the "Saweu Sikula" activity. they are the Chairperson of the Development Economics Student Association, Saddam, Mauliza, Yuri, Nurzaitun, Almaya, Muhammad Haikal, Shafira Mustaqilla, and Safira Nurul Lita.

According to Devi, the “Saweu Sikula” or School Visit will also be held in a number of schools in Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, and several other areas. "We are also planning outreach and promotion via radio," said Devi. [ayi]
