Oh, that's hard, I love her. My friend @pashinni just saw the Cine TV Contest #42 post and told me that it reminded her of me and Practical Magic, which is my favorite movie, but I already talked about that one. It is not a big deal, there are plenty. The next one I adore is Miss Congeniality (2000). I remember watching it any time they showed it on TV, all the time, I always loved that she wasn't the typical girl, of course, most movies are not about the "typical" girl, the main character is meant to be different, but they always wanted to fit or something like that and Miss Congeniality just didn't, she played by her rules and still got her way.

Qué duro, me encanta. Mi amiga @pashinni acaba de ver el post del Concurso Cine TV #42 y me ha dicho que le ha recordado a mí y a Hechizo de amor, que es mi película favorita, pero de esa ya hablé. No importa, hay muchas. La siguiente que adoro es Miss Simpatía (2000). Recuerdo que la veía cada vez que la ponían en la tele, a todas horas, siempre me encantó que no fuera la típica chica, claro, la mayoría de las películas no son sobre la chica "típica", se supone que la protagonista es diferente, pero siempre querían encajar o algo así y Miss Simpatía simplemente no, ella jugaba con sus reglas y aun así se salía con la suya.

Miss Congeniality is about the FBI Gracie Hart, who has to go undercover as Miss USA to prevent an attack. A total irony, being her the absolute opposite of a Miss.

She was never feminine, not even as a little girl, and that really shaped her personality and how she behaves in the world. I like how at the beginning after she felt responsible for a man getting shot in the middle of a procedure because she didn't obey, you can feel her frustration, the scene is pretty good, she comes home with that energy when you exaggerate every movement to show that you are angry, and everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. Sandra is really good at making you believe her character and its emotions.

Miss Simpatía trata de la agente del FBI Gracie Hart, que tiene que ir de incógnito como Miss USA para evitar un atentado. Toda una ironía, siendo ella todo lo contrario a una Miss.


Nunca fue femenina, ni siquiera de pequeña, y eso realmente moldeó su personalidad y su forma de comportarse en el mundo. Me gusta cómo al principio, después de que se sintiera responsable de que dispararan a un hombre en medio de un procedimiento porque ella no obedeció, puedes sentir su frustración, la escena es bastante buena, llega a casa con esa energía cuando exageras cada movimiento para mostrar que estás enfadado, y todo lo que puede salir mal, sale mal. Sandra es realmente buena haciendo que te creas su personaje y sus emociones.

Gracie was on the verge of being fired from the FBI department when an important case came up and she had great ideas about it, one was the infiltration of the Miss USA contest. It was so funny how it became a game of dressing the agents on the pc to know who would be a good candidate, pretty sure it would be very questionable now. She was one of the men watching it, they even ran the program on the men of the team to put swimsuits on them, until it was her turn and it seemed like a joke but, they actually liked her; I mean, her personality might be a mess but she's very fit, and hot.

Gracie estaba a punto de ser despedida del departamento del FBI cuando surgió un caso importante y tuvo grandes ideas al respecto, una de ellas era la infiltración en el concurso de Miss USA. Fue muy divertido como se convirtió en un juego de vestir a las agentes en la pc para saber quien sería una buena candidata, lo que seguro ahora sería muy cuestionable. Ella era uno de los hombres que lo veían, incluso pasaron el programa a los hombres del equipo para ponerles bañadores, hasta que le tocó a ella y parecía una broma pero, en realidad les gustó; quiero decir, su personalidad puede ser un desastre pero está muy en forma, y es sexy.

She didn't like it and had to go through a whole training to shame the ugly out of her. She had one talent though, to be pretty annoying doing sounds with a wine glass, which I loved and it was my favorite thing to do as a kid. I remember I loved it because at that age I was imitating everything I saw on TV and I saw a lot of magic movies, so very frustrating that I couldn't actually do anything that I tried like the spells, but this I could, I was playing with the wine glasses all the time. Luckily for my mom, I didn't break any from doing that.

No le gustó y tuvo que pasar por todo un entrenamiento para sacarle todo lo feo. Sin embargo tenía un talento, ser bastante molesta haciendo sonidos con una copa de vino, cosa que a mí me encantaba y era lo que más me gustaba hacer de pequeña. Recuerdo que me encantaba porque a esa edad imitaba todo lo que veía en la tele y veía muchas películas de magia, así que era muy frustrante que no pudiera hacer nada de lo que intentaba como los hechizos, pero esto sí, jugaba con las copas de vino todo el tiempo. Por suerte para mi mamá, no rompí ninguna por hacer eso.

When we first see her transformation is quite impressive, but then it's she again. Walking on heels and pretending to be a model is not that hard for the few seconds you have to be on stage so that the public believes her act is plausible. The moments out of the scene are what is hard, to blend with the other girls, or at least try. It was especially hard because she wasn't just a non-feminine serious woman, she was the goofy kind, that is always involved in some kind of accident. Sandra's physical comedy is great.

What I don't find accurate is how stubborn is she being an FBI agent. She also knows how important what she's doing so the comedy is good but for the person, I think she wouldn't make things so hard for her poor trainer Victor.

Cuando la vemos por primera vez su transformación es bastante impresionante, pero luego vuelve a ser ella. Caminar sobre tacones y fingir ser modelo no es tan difícil durante los pocos segundos que tiene que estar en el escenario, que el público crea que su actuación es verosímil. Lo difícil son los momentos fuera de escena, mezclarse con las demás chicas, o al menos intentarlo. Fue especialmente difícil porque ella no era sólo una mujer seria no femenina, era del tipo atolondrado, que siempre está involucrada en algún tipo de accidente. La comedia física de Sandra es genial.


Lo que no me parece acertado es lo testaruda que es siendo agente del FBI. También sabe lo importante que es lo que hace, así que la comedia es buena, pero como persona, creo que no le pondría las cosas tan difíciles a su pobre entrenador Victor.

The show was full of stereotypes, evidently, is a beauty event the one they are infiltrating, but one I liked was the "girls talk", and the pep talk the agent Eric gave to her telling her to let the girls see who she really is. The other girls weren't bad or mean, they accepted her and it shows when the FBI let her alone, without anyone to help her get ready (because they thought the case was closed) and all of them go help her... and they were sure she won't win so maybe they didn't feel threatened. She got into the final round without the support of the FBI though, so she probably was funny enough, well she was.

EL show estuvo llena de estereotipos, evidentemente, es un evento de belleza en el que se están infiltrando, pero uno que me gustó fue la "charla de chicas", y la charla de ánimo que le dio el agente Eric diciéndole que dejara ver a las chicas quién es realmente. Las otras chicas no eran malas ni mezquinas, la aceptaban y se nota cuando el FBI la deja sola, sin que nadie la ayude a prepararse (porque pensaban que el caso estaba cerrado) y todas van a ayudarla... estaban seguras de que no iba a ganar así que quizás no se sintieron amenazadas. Sin embargo, llegó a la ronda final sin el apoyo del FBI, así que probablemente era lo suficientemente graciosa, bueno, es que sí lo era.

All the vital information for the case was provided by the girls because all the rumors they heard and all they knew about the event organizers were the keys to discovering who had the motive and the means to destroy the event, but they didn't know how all they knew was that it was the organizer Kathy Morningside and that she only was Miss USA back in her days because the actual winner died by poisoning, now she wanted to kill again because she was being fired of the organization. Once Gracie discovered that the weapon was the crown she fought to take it off the head of Miss Rhode Island, the winner of the current event.

Toda la información vital para el caso fue proporcionada por las chicas ya que todos los rumores que escucharon y todo lo que sabían sobre los organizadores del evento eran las claves para descubrir quien tenía el motivo y los medios para destruir el evento, pero no sabían como, todo lo que sabían era que era la organizadora Kathy Morningside y que solo fue Miss USA en su día porque la verdadera ganadora murió envenenada, ahora quería volver a matar porque la estaban despidiendo de la organización. Una vez que Gracie descubrió que el arma era la corona luchó para quitársela de la cabeza a Miss Rhode Island, la ganadora del certamen actual.

Gracie saved the day but kicked some asses on the way, and the nose of Miss Texas. I didn't remember how was that she was selected as "Miss Congeniality", in my memories from my childhood it was blurry, I remember it as part of the main event, but it was even more beautiful, it was a prize given by the other girls, a real one, but not given by an organization but by the same girls she was living with for the whole time the undercover operation went.

The final look of agent Gracie is great, it's still her, but as she cared about herself, she realized that looking good wasn't the same that being shallow. Sandra Bullock was able to stay true to her character even when it went through a few transformations.

She was a great choice to this character because she's a beauty but because her energy makes it a beauty, if Sandra Bullock weren't a famous actress she could pass as a normal person, and that is not bad, that makes her more human and approachable... Miss Congeniality.

Gracie salvó el día, pero pateó algunos traseros en el camino, y la nariz de Miss Texas. No recordaba como fue que fue seleccionada como "Miss Simpatía", en mis recuerdos de mi infancia estaba borroso, lo recuerdo como parte del evento principal, pero fue aún más bonito, fue un premio dado por las otras chicas, uno real, pero no dado por una organización sino por las mismas chicas con las que estuvo conviviendo durante todo el tiempo que duró la operación encubierta.


El aspecto final de la agente Gracie es genial, sigue siendo ella, pero a medida que se fue preocupando por sí misma, se dio cuenta de que verse bien no era lo mismo que ser superficial. Sandra Bullock fue capaz de mantenerse fiel a su personaje incluso cuando sufrió algunas transformaciones.


Fue una gran elección para este personaje porque es una belleza pero porque su energía la convierte en una belleza, si Sandra Bullock no fuera una actriz famosa podría pasar por una persona normal, y eso no es malo, eso la hace más humana y accesible... Miss Simpatía.
