Quicksand is a real, pure film-noir that attracts the viewer with a detailed and intricate story and keeps him in suspense until the end. A classic story that shows how an individual slowly slips into an increasingly serious crime due to strong desires, greed, and emotions.

Story:
Young car mechanic Dan Brady (Mickey Rooney), full of self-confidence and youthful testosterone, believes he can win over any girl with his charm. When femme fatale Vera Novak (Jeanne Cagney) comes to the workshop, he wants to date her in any way. But he has one problem. Dan is more or less empty pockets, some time ago he lent some money to a friend and still did not get it back.
What now? He takes the money from the cash register of the car repair shop. He wants to return it before they miss him but the cashier returns earlier than planned. The film then typically embarks on a journey where a minor crime leads to a larger one, that to an even larger one, and so on according to the snowball principle. Mechanic Dan is quickly trapped in his own noose, from which he will not be able to escape. It is trapped in quicksand, in which it sinks more and more.
Decades after being shot and blacklisted, the film has attracted the attention of film critics and fans as a film-noir classic, with some critics even considering that Mickey Rooney played one of his best roles there.
