Cinetvcontest: The Dark Night (2008)

Source

Okay this one is a little bit hard because me and my friends have seen a lot of movies together, movies that we bond with a lot but this particular movie I'll write about, I can remember the vibes and joy we had watching this movie together so I'll just go straight to the point.

One movie that holds a special place between me and my friend or should I say friends is DC's "The Dark Knight" (2008). We all share a likeness for superhero flicks, and "The Dark Knight" sticks out as one movie where we experience a fantastic cinematic experience.

When we first saw this movie together was way back during the holidays, and to be honest with you we were immediately impressed.

From the opening scene, where we are quickly led into the dark and menacing realm of Gotham City. Not to mention the captivating plot, violent adrenaline packed action sequences, and lastly but the best part that got us falling like dominos in love with the movie was the brilliant performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker. Mind you he was the villain of the movie but his performance put us on the edge of our seats throughout.

I think one other of the reasons why "The Dark Knight" became much talked about amongst us for a long time was its outstanding dialogue. If you've seen this movie then you will understand what I'm talking about. The Joker, in particular, the character we fell in love with, was always delivering statements that are both terrifying and thought-provoking. Again I remind you that he was the villain of the movie. With his trademark comment,
"Why so serious?" became an instant catchphrase, and a regular playful quote throughout our conversations, bringing an air of fun to our friendship.

Also lines like "Do I really look like a guy with a plan?" and "I'm an agent of chaos" isn't left out too in our conversations. I guess that demonstrated the true Joker's anarchic character and his ability to disrupt order.

Seriously, Heath Ledger's playing as the Joker, for us, stole the whole show and made it more fun and exciting. His depiction was unsettling and fascinating. I believe that character particularly won him posthumous critical praise and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Joker represented anarchy and the unexpected nature of 'villainity' so well. He pushed Batman's sense of justice and order a lot, In Fact he pushed him to his limits. Ledger's Joker has been my best villain in the history of Batman movies

Besides Joker being our favorite character, we also felt how Wayne dives through the challenges of being a hero saddled with a big responsibility of safeguarding Gotham City. The internal strife, as he tackles his personal problems while also struggling with the moral dilemmas of battling crime courtesy of Joker.

I guess that's one movie that my friends and I saw and couldn't get enough of. It was an experience that up till now we use some of the lines from the movie and we laugh heartily.
