Fatum

I watched Fatum, a movie whose main theme focuses on how gambling addiction can affect a person and those around them. First of all, the movie is a highly watchable and successful production in which the performances of the actors stand out and become more impressive with the additional elements added to the story.

The movie tells the audience about desperation through two characters who lead opposite lives, and the paths of these two prominent characters cross at one point for different purposes. These different goals, one of which is death and the other life, develop in the shadow of a decision that cannot be made at the right time.

Decisions made at the right time or made late trigger the human will and inner world and lead to the questioning of the consequences. The most important reason why I find the performances of the actors right is that each character uses their own truth as a tool of pressure against the other until the last moment of the movie and they are quite successful in this.

Luis Tosar, who plays the character of Sergio, who can't get rid of his gambling addiction, portrays the inner world of a man addicted to gambling, his regrets and his losses to perfection. A life whose only goal is to regain what he has lost is questioned and punished with new losses in addition to what he has lost so far.

When he sinks to the depths of despair, he touches you with his changing perspective. Unlike Sergio, Alex Garcia's character Pablo, who has to live with his fate, is questioned for his good intentions and punished for the decisions he fails to make or makes too late.

Although the main theme of the movie is gambling addiction, it manages to raise the tension to the highest levels by bringing together two characters experiencing desperation in the same story. The common point of both characters is desperation, but their judgments, choices and consequences are quite different. This shows the change in the inner world of the two characters and the thin line between the concept of right and wrong.

The success of the actors' performances makes the movie more impressive, while showing the unknown, perhaps unthinkable sides of what gambling addiction can lead to. I wholeheartedly recommend you to watch the movie. It has a successful story with many lessons to be learned with its causes and consequences...

And I think the most beautiful teaching was the happiness of the new life that comes after a life that ends. You can see the door to that happiness when you watch the movie, but can each of us open that door? I am not sure about that! I wish you a good watch.
