Another case of Ryan Reynolds?
Movies are great when there is CGI, movies are spicy with romance, and movies are hot with breathtaking action sequences. But a movie becomes Ryan Reynolds when there is a Ryan Reynolds in it.
Okay before I start, I would like to say that I'm a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds but because of his character limitation I've grown quite sick of him.
I mean, he was Ryan Reynolds from birth, he was Ryan Reynolds in the Blade Trinity movie, he was Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 1,2, and hopefully in 3. He was also Ryan Reynolds in six underground and now he is Ryan Reynolds in free guy...wow ..why am I not surprised?
Free guy is a movie about a non-playable character who helps a game programmer retrieve the original codes to her game which were embedded into the code of another company's game. And she needs to do it all before the company's game and its data are erased for good.
There are a lot of incredible things about this free guy movie.
Every movie has a CGI moment and this one is no exception.
My favorite part of the CGI was watching them refer to all the marvel iconic characters in the final fight scene. The hulk arm, the Captain America shield, and the Chris Evans cameo....simply incredible.
Chemistry is important in all movies to convey believability. And Ryan Reynold's character(Guy) and best friend had one of the best in this movie. Although a little love chemistry was trying to brew itself between Ryan Reynold's character and the programmer, it was eventually squashed to death.
Just like every incredible movie, free guy had an incredible plot that wasn't very finely polished but delivered in every aspect.
For a movie based on comedy it didn't have much funny to build on, except for Ryan Reynolds, which worked for the movie because even though I've had enough of him, I just can't hate a good actor.
There weren't many iconic moments in this movie except for the captain America shield reveal.
It also had animation and graphic design that is only second to that of ready player one.
Finally freeguy is a movie, focused on the redemption quest, friendship and self development with a lot of Ryan Reynolds.
