Seit Samstag beherrschen diese Nachrichten die Medien. Ein Politiker will Plakate aufhängen für die Europawahl und wird dabei attackiert und schwer verletzt. Das ganze passierte in Dresden/Sachsen.
Aber das ist ja nur die Spitze des Eisbergs. Schon lange werden Politiker verleumdet, bedroht, sogar mit Morddrohungen. Und es bleibt nicht bei persönlicher Bedrohung, auch die ganze Familie wird bedroht. Und immer wieder kommt es auch zu tätlichen Übergriffen. Da werden Autos angezündet, Wände beschmiert, Fenster eingeworfen und... und... und...
Was hat das noch mit Demokratie zu tun? Ist das friedlicher Protest der bürgerlichen Mitte? Oder sind das gewaltbereite Extremisten, denen jedes Mittel recht ist, ihre Meinung durch zu drücken und andere Meinungen zu unterdrücken?
"Wir werden sie jagen!" hat ein bekannter Politiker aus der rechten Ecke vor ein paar Jahren gesagt. Ja und das was er angekündigt hat, das setzen nun andere auf der Straße um.
Ich kann nur hoffen, dass diese Täter schnell ermittelt und betraft werden. Wenn so etwas Schule macht, dann gute Nacht Demokratie und Frieden in Deutschland.

This news has dominated the media since Saturday. A politician wants to put up posters for the European elections and is attacked and seriously injured. The whole thing happened in Dresden/Saxony.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Politicians have long been slandered, threatened, and even given death threats. And it's not just a personal threat; the entire family is also threatened. And physical attacks occur again and again. Cars are set on fire, walls are smeared, windows are smashed and... and... and...
What does this have to do with democracy? Is this a peaceful protest by the middle class? Or are they violent extremists who use every means possible to impose their opinions and suppress other opinions?
"We'll hunt them down!" a well-known right-wing politician said a few years ago. Yes, and what he announced is now being implemented by others on the street.
I can only hope that these perpetrators are quickly identified and punished. If something like this sets a precedent, then goodnight democracy and peace in Germany.
