Are you a novices or expert in Alien Worlds Ecosystem?
Let's look into basic and important things about Alien Worlds mining.
This article focuses on NFT mining, Trilium Mining Power, Tools types, Rarities and above all, a Rank-gating system introduction.
Beginning with basic in the Alien Worlds as a beginner, you will be given a free shovel so has to start mining right away (very limited, little TLM mining), so its recommended to get better tools so as to maximise your mining.
To start with, everyone can only equip a total of three tools and when you can them, they will contribute to your tool and the land stats (tools affect your stats, more than anything else & also land you choose).
There are six different rarities for tools within the Alien World. These are: Abundant, Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. All these rarities are very important as this focuses on the mining power.
Shining is also an important aspect to look at what talk about Tools. Shining is simply means blending and blending is like adding up four Nordic NFTs to get the next level up. So Shining your NFTs outcome is to increase stats. So there is Rarity and their is Shining. When you are Shining, you need TLM (Alien Worlds utility token) is varies in proportion to the rarity of the NFTs you are combining.
Note: There are five different Shine levels (Stone, Gold, Stardust, antimater, and xDimension).
The fist four shining levels are available through Shining of NFTs while XDimension only available in a special packs, therefore, no way to shine upto XDimension level.
The important icon here are Trillium Mining Power & NFT Luck Modifier.

In the new released version 2.11.0. of Alien Worlds, Rank Gated Tool Threshold Adjustment was introduced. This adjustment focuses on experienced Explorers (Players) to access the most powerful mining tools. According to the team announcement, this system is designed to encourage players to invest in strengthening a single account. Under the rank-gated system, so, Explorers or Players need to reach a minimum rank to use tools of higher rarity.
Also note that the Reward Claim Cooldown for Mining Rewards has been updated from 48 to 72 hours.
Below graphic shows the specific rank requirements
1. How To Mine For Shards or TLM
If you are mining for Shards, then you need to pick NFTs that has high NFT Luck modifier. The higher your modifier is, the more Shards you will earn. On the opposite, if you are not care about mining Shards, then Trilium Mining Power needs to be consider when checking for NFT to buy.
2. How to mine both Shards & TLM
If you want to mine both, you need NFT with equal amount of Trilium Mining Power and NFT Luck modifier.
Paying attention to your tool selection is the key here!!!
