The tradition and the fame of being among the best is a very important part of the gastronomic world of this city.
That is why I went to visit Pizzeria Guerrin and its iconic building in the middle of the artistic area of the city.
Located one block from the obelisk and on Corrientes street, full of theaters and shows, its multiple rooms and levels with their small and tightly packed tables give us the feeling of eating with family.
The day I went, the restaurant could not have been more crowded and we had to wait in a long line until we were assigned a table.
The unusual thing was that we had to go through the kitchen to get out to another dining room at the back.
Then they told us that, as the restaurant started to outgrow so many visitors, they had bought an adjoining house at the back of the original building and the only point where they could join them was through the kitchen.
So that made the experience that much more fun.
This dining room has a very high ceiling and the exposed brick walls are decorated with photos of famous visitors and memorabilia from the early years of the place.
Not to mention the undisputed excellence of the pizzas, but the highlight is that I had the opportunity to try the faina.
A chickpea flour dough, baked in the shape of a pizza and also brought by Italian migrants to the country.
The truth is a delicious combination.
In addition, I had the pleasure of accompanying the meal with a cold soda from the house.
A wonderful place to definitely visit with the family and feel like you are in a traditional Italian gathering full of people.

Por eso fui a conocer la Pizzería Guerrin y su edificio icónico en plena zona artística de la ciudad.
Ubicada a una cuadra del obelisco y en la calle Corrientes, llena de teatros y espectáculos, sus múltiples salones y niveles con sus mesas pequeñas y apretadas nos dan la sensación de estar comiendo en familia.
El día que fui no podía estar más lleno el restaurante y tuvimos que hacer una larga fila hasta que nos asignaron una mesa.
Lo insólito fue que tuvimos que atravesar la cocina para salir a otro salón comedor que estaba en la parte posterior.
Luego nos contaron que, como el restaurante empezó a quedar chico para tantos visitantes, habían comprado una casa colindante por la parte trasera del edificio original y el único punto por donde pudieron unirlas fue por la cocina.
Así que eso hizo mucho más divertida la experiencia.
Este salón comedor tiene un techo muy alto y las paredes de ladrillo expuesto están decoradas con fotos de famosos visitantes y recuerdos de los primeros años del lugar.
Ni hablar de la indiscutible excelencia de las pizzas, pero lo más destacado es que tuve la oportunidad de probar la faina.
Una masa de harina de garbanzo, cocida en forma de pizza y que también trajeron los migrantes italianos al país.
La verdad una combinación deliciosa.
Además, me di el gusto de acompañar la comida con una soda fría de la casa.
Un lugar maravilloso para visitar definitivamente en familia y sentirse en una tradicional reunión italiana colmada de gente.
