Let’s Go To KitKat Chocolatory @ Sydney, Australia with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

The first is a popular chocolate around the world in particular in Japan where they have the weirdest and coolest flavours available. After knowing Japan opened the world’s first make your own Kit Kat store, I was hoping Sydney will have one as we can’t fly over to Japan any time soon due to COVID restrictions. Finally our wait is over! The Australian KitKat Chocolatory flagship store finally opened in Sydney. Locate in Midcity at Townhall, this store is a must visit if you are a KitKat fan.

Due to COVID, not many people were in the city so the store was not packed. The first thing we notice was a Kitkat train just like a sushi train at the front of the store. We weren’t interested with that but hubby wanted to get a drink first to start off with. He waited for the drink while I picked out a few goodies for my in laws for Chinese New Year as they love chocolates. Each special Kitkat on the train was $6 each.

The wall of KitKats were amazing. These flavours are not seen at normal supermarkets and can only be found at this store. These special flavours aren’t cheap but they sure make them special. Check out the durian flavour Kitkat! How creative is that.

They also have a wall of special edition Kitkats with half of them with Australian flavours like laminations, espresso cookies and the other half imported from Japan with flavours like matcha and melon. The beautiful sublime range is also available, all individually boxed and pretty pricy in my option. They use the top of the range ingredients to produce these individually boxed chocolates wafers.

The make your own KitKat was unfortunately unavailable when we visited due to the low numbers of people but normally it would be made here. If you want something extra fancy, you can also get some special ones pre-made at the counter. They all look very yummy not sure which one to choose. We ended up buying a bunch for my in laws and we also got some freebies thrown in which was a nice surprise. The drink hubby got was nice full of kitkat flavours but not interesting enough to go back for again. So glad we now have a store in Sydney, no need buy the expensive ones Japanese ones online anymore.
