What food have you not eaten in a long time and do you miss? Maybe because the food is difficult to make, or maybe because the place where the food is located so far from where you are now?
The pandemic brings me back to memories four years ago. Visiting a city, besides wanting to know what unique things are in that city, I also want to find good food there. Yes, I'm a person who likes to try new things, including delicious food that I've never tried before.
This food is not sold at my place, and due to the current lockdown policy that makes me unable to go there, I want to share with you my memories at a cafe with a special dessert menu in Bandung, a city in West Java, Indonesia.
Who does not know ice cream in this world? Semi-solid food made from a mixture of milk, vegetable or animal fat, and sugar. If ice cream is usually served by a bowl or cone, it's different from the Dessert Mangkok Manis cafe, they use coconut shells as the base for the ice cream!
Yes! Coconuts are usually only taken for the fruit or the water is taken for consumption, Mangkok Manis uses coconut shells as a place for food. Mangkok Manis is clearly a pioneer for this.
Located on Cihampelas street no. 95, since the beginning of opening Mangkok Manis there has never been a shortage of customers. In addition to a cool place with an industrial theme which is divided into two parts, indoor and outdoor, Mangkok Manis is also very close to one of the famous shopping centers, Cihampelas Walk (Ciwalk).

VARIETY OF MENUS THAT CONTINUE TO GROW
If at the beginning of this business, they specialized in serving coconut shell ice cream, more and more, Mangkok Manis continues to add to the menu for their restaurant. Not only dessert, now they also have appetizers, such as; Indonesian Platter consisting of Lumpia Semarang, and tofu with sweet and spicy sauce, also available other options such as Potato Platter.
As for the main course menu, Mangkok Manis serves a variety of dishes, such as; grilled chicken, fried oxtail soup, rice bowl, various steaks, spaghetti and various noodles.
For the dessert menu, of course, various kinds of ice cream are available there! With the growing variety of flavors, the desserts at Mangkok Manis also don't just use coconut shells, they also serve them with glass mats as usual. What types of ice cream are there, including;

Meanwhile, what I ordered was Mochi Mango with a composition of mango pudding and ice cream, tapioca pearl, nata de coco, sliced fresh mango, and their special topping, mochi.

What? No, it's not a kind of self service, but rather the customer has to choose what mixture to put in the bowl that you choose. For example, you choose what kind of pudding you want, the flavor of ice cream, and what toppings you choose. Fun, right?!

Cool place, great menu, and what if it wasn't for the affordable price! That's the reason why Sweet Bowls are full of buyers.
For one portion of Mango Mochi that I ordered, it is priced at Rp. 28,000, and this is worth it because one serving of this ice cream you can eat together with your friends.
While the Chicken Spicy Rice Bowl is priced at Rp. 30.000, the spicy chicken is very tasty and suitable for spicy lovers, plus lettuce leaves, cucumber slices, and fresh tomatoes make the meal even more delicious.
For drinks, because the weather was hot, so I ordered the Infused Lemon, Mint infusion which was priced at Rp. 22,500.
