hello, food lovers...!

Today, because of work piled up and my lunch hour was missed, I finally decided to have lunch with a bowl of Bakmi. by the way, noodles are included in the street food category. In a previous post, I mentioned some street foods that are very popular in Indonesia. one of them is Bakmi.

actually, instead of bakmi, in Indonesia there are more who sell chicken noodles. There are also various types of sellers, some are walking around while pushing a cart, some are renting a place to sell.

many who can't tell the difference between bakmi and mie ayam. These two foods are very similar in terms of ingredients and taste. however, there is a striking thing that can distinguish the two.

CHICKEN NOODLE

is a street food made from boiled wheat noodles, pieces of mustard greens, and sweet spiced chicken cut into cubes, then poured with clear broth. sprinkled with spring onions on top. Chicken noodle shops are often combined with meatballs. so, in one shop, customers can choose between chicken noodles or meatball dishes.

Bakmi is a typical Chinese noodle dish. have the same ingredients as chicken noodles, noodles have a characteristic in how to cook chicken. when it comes to chicken noodles, the chicken seasoning tends to be sweet because it's cooked with soy sauce. in noodles, the chicken seasoning used is paler in color and tends to taste savory.

Bakmi also have a different way of serving with chicken noodles. if the chicken noodle soup is served directly with the noodles and other ingredients in a bowl, the noodle soup is served separately.

What's unique about this noodle is the topping used in addition to savory seasoned chicken, there is also red chicken. this is your first time eating red chicken noodle. In addition, here are also provided pickled cucumbers are provided in a separate bowl.

What I really like about this bakmi at this store is the level of maturity of the noodles which is just right. Not too thick or not too swollen because it takes too long to boil.

The onion oil seasoning is also very tasty, even though the portion is quite large, it didn't take me long to finish it.

When I uploaded a photo on my social media timeline, some friends immediately thought that the noodle I was eating was called Bakmi Potianak, while another friend said it was Bakmi Bangka because the noodles came from Pontianak or Bangka. Calm down, friends...for me this is still a special bakmi from Jakarta as it has been written on the big banner in front of the shop.

The price for one serving of special chicken noodles is IDR 15k, after knowing how it tastes and how many chicken toppings are used, I feel 15k is really worth it.
