Hoi An Ancient Town is a great tourist destination attracting millions of tourists every year. This place is not only famous for its peaceful and ancient beauty but also delicious dishes typical for the culture of Central Vietnam. Today, I will introduce to you some delicious food that I like the most in Hoi An. If you have a chance to come here, don't forget to try them
- Quang Noodle: Referring to Hoi An, it is impossible to ignore Quang noodle dish. Quang noodles are typical of Da Nang and Hoi An (Quang Nam). Noodles are made from rice flour and served with raw vegetables such as bean sprouts, lettuce, and basil. Topping includes pork, shrimp or chicken. I especially like to eat Mi Quang with crushed peanuts, it's very crispy and fragrant. If you'd like to try your hand at making Quang noodle at home, you can check out @kimloan's recipe here. She gives very detailed instructions and I will definitely try out one day. The price of a bowl of Quang noodles in Hoi An is quite cheap, about 30,000 VND (1$)
- Chicken rice : Ba Buoi chicken rice is very famous in Hoi An. Rice is marinated with turmeric and cooked with chicken broth, so when cooked it has a beautiful golden color. The special feature of the dish is that the chicken is firm and sweet. Chicken rice served with sour papaya dish. It's a certain delicious dish I will try when I come to Hoi An again next year
(Ba Buoi's House where is selling chicken rice)
- Mot juice: Mot herb juice is a fresh dessert. This dish is made from lemon, lemongrass, and lotus leaves. After walking in the sun for a long time, I drank a cup of Mot and all my fatigue seemed to disappear. A cup of Mot juice costs 10 thousand VND
- Banh beo: with 3 thousand Vietnam dong, you will have a small bowl of banh beo right away. This cake is eaten with ram and small shrimp
- Phuong bread and Khanh bread: When coming to Hoi An, you should definitely eat bread at these 2 famous restaurants. Banh mi Phuong has a store in Korea. The bread here is delicious with topping from spring rolls, meat, pate, pickles and chili sauce. Each bread costs from 20-35 thousand VND. This dish is a symbol of Hoi An in particular and Vietnam in general
- Sweet gruel: It made from black beans, red beans, green beans or lotus seeds and served with coconut milk. Or you can try tofu here. Tofu has a mild sweet taste, fragrant with ginger juice. The price of each cup of sweet gruel is from 10-15 thousand VND
A special and interesting feature in Hoi An is that the food will be arranged in small baskets and the saleswoman will sell it on the sidewalk. The food is very diverse to choose from. The food here is not too expensive. I think you have to stay in Hoi An for a week to try all the delicious dishes here 😂
