Rendang Ampela Bebek/ Duck Gizzards Rendang

Good evening Ecency friends, how are you today? I hope you are all very well and healthy as always, Aamiin.

Today, i'd like to share you a cooking recipe, namely Duck Gizzards Rendang.
Usually, Rendang is cooked with beef or chicken, but i tried to cook it with duck gizzards. Luckily, there are all the ingredients in my fridge to cook this dish, here's the recipe :

Duck Gizzards Rendang

Ingredients :

  • ½ kilograms of duck gizzards (washed, half-boiled, and cut into pieces)

  • ¼ kilograms of potatoes, peel them, wash, then cut them into small cubes.

  • A pack of instant Rendang seasoning (for example, i used "Racik Indofood" brand).
  • 2 onions (peeled, washed, and thin-sliced).
  • 2 garlics (peeled, washed, and thin-sliced).
  • 2 bay leaves (washed).
  • A pack of coconut cream (for example, i used "Sasa" brand).
  • A glass of water.
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.

How to cook :

  • Heat the cooking oil in a pan, then sauté the sliced onions and garlics until they smell good.

  • Pour the instant Rendang seasoning into the pan, add half glass of water, and bay leaves. Stir well.

  • Add potatoes, stir gently until they're well-mixed with seasoning. Then pour the rest of water. Cook them until the potatoes are half-cooked.

  • Add the boiled duck gizzards, stir well. Cook until everything is ripe.

  • After that, low the heat. Pour the coconut cream while keep stiring.

  • Keep stiring and cook until the water is reduced. Turn off the stove, put the duck gizzards Rendang into the bowl.

  • Duck Gizzards Rendang is ready! Serve it with warm rice. It tastes as delicious as beef Rendang.
