Patsitivity's Palate: Laid-back lunch at the mountainside

It's easy to fall in love with November of last year for the following reasons, namely: (1) I got my post-baccalaureate diploma and (2) it's our 3rd year anniversary. After my graduation, we spent a night at Maayo Hotel and planned a series of activities for the following day to celebrate our 3rd anniversary.

My boyfriend owns a motorcycle and if you've been to Cebu, you'll agree that navigating around our not-so-little city is easier when you have a motorcycle. Traffic sucks!

I told him a couple of times that despite being well-traveled (outside of Cebu), I haven't been to Cebu City's top tourist destinations. You might laugh at this but yes, I haven't been to Sirao Flower Farm/Garden. I've been to Tawi-tawi but not Sirao that's less than a marathon away from where I live in the city. šŸ¤¦šŸ¤¦šŸ¤¦

Wish come true!

So my boyfriend decided to grant my wish and bring me to Sirao Flower Garden but before that, we had to fill up our energy tanks, of course.

I've seen a post about this cafe we're visiting in a couple of minutes from @sassycebuana. I always wanted to pay a quick visit but since it's a bit far from the city considering it's in the mountainous part of Cebu City, the fare could be expensive as two servings of my favorite frappe. But that day, it was another wish come true! Thanks to my boyfriend for driving! šŸ˜˜

Today, I'll give you a virtual tour of Outback Servo. It is a cafe located at Ipil-ipil, Brgy. Babang II Rd, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu. It is just beside the right side of the road when you're heading to Balamban or Sirao. With its massive signage built just beside the road, you won't miss it!

Then you'll see this simple yet chic building and for the record, they're the only massive building along that stretch of road (unless something has been built recently after our visit). The cafe is a two-storey building erected on top of the mountain and because of that, it offers not just food but a stunning speck of Cebu City's mountain ranges.

As expected from a cafe that's erected on the mountainside, the cafe's designers ensured continuity and as they say "bringing the outdoors inside" is implemented. Well, they did just that because, on the first floor, they've used glass walls that made the entire space one with nature.

Look at that view! It's like having your afternoon cup of tea or your fresh orange juice in your own garden, right? Consequently, as I customer I felt relaxed, refreshed, and stress-free the entire time we were here.

Oh look, there's more!

If you think that what I just showed you is the best part of the cafe's location and design, well you're partly right but partly wrong. When we moved to the second floor, I was amazed even more. Unlike the first floor with glass walls, the entire 2nd floor was left open. That means no walls and that means you can be one with nature all you want.

We picked the second floor because it gave us this beautiful view:

My boyfriend wanted to sit in regular chairs but I insisted we stay in the high chairs overlooking the mountain ranges. This is what we came for, might as well get the most out of it and I felt the experience will be better if we're facing this side while eating and chitchatting.

The second floor is more spacious than the first floor. Here are more photos:

But because it's open air, it can get hot in the afternoon but other than that, I loved this place!

And now, the verdict!

Let's be honest here, the cafe's food isn't exceptional; especially for people like me who can cook and who can cook well, the standards for food are a bit high. Don't get me wrong tho, the food was delicious but it's not something I can remember as I write this piece. It's too normal to make it to my most palatable list of dishes I've tried in my lifetime.

But yeah, they look pretty and instagramable at the very least...

Wish come true, indeed!

Overall, despite not being too happy about the food they served, I'd still recommend the place. If you've had a long and bad week, it's best to get rid of the negative vibes by having brunch here with your loved ones.

That's all for now! See you in my next food adventures or misadventures! Haha! šŸ˜Ž
