Saving Almost Rotten Fruits in Saudi Arabia

Good afternoon Hivers!

I'm going to share a story about how I save fruits that were almost rotten from the fridge.

Why?

There are so many people around the world who are hungry. They even had no basic food to eat. Seeing people in hunger broke my heart.

My employer always buying extra stuff which is not necessary at home. If it is dry goods, there is no problem but when it comes to fresh vegetables and fruits, they would be rotten in several days inside the fridge. His children do not love eating fruits and I could not eat them all at once.

Sometimes, I give it to the street cleaners or the garden cleaner.


These are some of the fruits I suppose to throw in the garbage.

Today I would share how I utilize it and never throw it away. How I wish I could send it back home if we are just neighbors.

Preparation

I washed all the fruits thoroughly and look if there are holes and worms. All the good shape, I kept it and make a fruit salad.

There are also melons inside the fridge which are already cut but some are not sweet so they leave it like that until rotten. So, I got Some slices to be mixed with my salad.

My boss is just wasting money without knowing that there are people who are in hunger.

The oranges

After slicing them all, I mixed them all. I love the strawberries on the top.


I have mayonnaise, condensed milk, and cheese. These are optional. For me, these are no longer needed to avoid cholesterol.


This fresh milk made my salad perfect without adding sugar.

I will just add orange juice to the sliced fruit salad mixture. Cover and off to the fridge. Orange juice will cover the salad and help preserve the fruits.


One serving for me, a bowl added with fresh milk.
