Whats a Dhaba you ask?
The word "Dhaba" means roadside food stall. They are generally located on the highways in India serving local cuisine. A Dhaba can also be a food truck.
If ever you cruise on the beautiful lush green highways of India, you are sure to find a Dhaba. They are usually open 24 hrs.
This is how a bona fide Dhaba looks like.

Dhaba's root origin is from the state of Punjab, India. The OG's of the Dhaba's, were you would find family owned Dhaba's passed down through generations.
In pop culture the word Dhaba takes a new meaning. In my understanding, the word Dhaba means to have local authentic food, be it anywhere in the city, village or anywhere in the world.
I found a Dhaba here in the capital city of Abu Dhabi.

I can assure you that Punjabi Dhaba lives up to the name "Dhaba".
Authetic Punjabi Cusine. Finger licking-mouth watering food.
Soya Achari Tikka.
This is the Dish for Vegans who are former Non-Vegetarians.
The cosistency of the Soya Chap is exactly like meat. And its freaking delicious. The perfect fusion of Tikka and Pickle flavor.
Amritsari Chole Kulcha
Kulcha(Flat Bread) filled with spiced potatoes and glazed with butter, cumin seeds and coriander seed & leaf's, served with Chick Peas(Chole) Curry.
With every bite of this dish, you can taste India.
Special Chicken Dhaba Curry
Served with Tandoor Roti. The burst of flavours in this curry is mind blasting. I can call this a perfect curry having the right taste profile.
Mango Punjabi Lassi
Mandotary glass of Punjabi Lassi. Dhaba food is incomplete without a pint of Punjabi Lassi.
Lassi is a thick yoghurt based drink. You can have it salty, sugary or fruit based.
In Punjab, a glass of lassi is served in a 1 litre copper glass and local Punjabi's have the rich concoction every morning.
We had to get it transferred to a smaller cup. Drink is comforting and heavy(if consumed to much).
I wanted to have my half of the (200ml) Lassi like an OG Punjabi. I drank directly from the 1 litre Copper glass.
Punjabi Dhaba is the place to be for some truly authetic Punjabi Food.
I am sure the Food will make you go Bruaaaaah!!
