Greetings Hive,

It's a great morning and we have to prepare a good breakfast for the family and I'm making sauteed bitter melon.

Ampalaya (Tagalog) Bitter gourd/melon (English) Paliya (in our Cebuano dialect)

Did you know that Paliya is a great source of carbohydrates, iron, vitamin A, potassium and phosphorus and it's fats and cholesterol-free too? well, today I'm gonna do a vegan breakfast since my bitter gourd plant is ready to pick up from the branch.

A little flashback with this veggie, this was a seedling from my neighbour and since she has no enough place to plant and so I ask her some and plant it somewhere so I decided to place it near our water well so it's easy for me to water.

I planted it like it's unintentionally but it gives me a healthy food good for a meal. I can say it's healthy because I did not put any fertilizer on it it's just only watering properly since it's very sunny this day.

here is my food preparation after I pick them up from the branch.

Ingredients
3 medium bitter gourd, 2 eggs, onion and garlic, salt and pepper, seasoning and oil.

procedure
wash the bitter gourd, cut and remove the seeds and the cottony part by scooping with a spoon.

slice it like this

to remove its bitterness you can put a pinch of salt and squeeze it or you can try putting ice too but for me, I never tried putting ice but rather use salt cause for me it's more effective

After extracting a little bitterness with salt you have to rinse it thoroughly and get ready for cooking.

in a hot pan put oil
saute onion and garlic
add on bitter gourd
season with seasoning pepper and salt.
lastly, combine the bitten eggs,
cook for 2-3 minutes and remove from the pan .make sure not to overcook 🙂

The family loved it so much since it's fresh you can feel the crunchiness and you can't taste the bitterness maybe that's the way it is when it's truly fresh than being stock in the market before purchased

and I'm saving its seeds maybe I could replant it for more and hopefully, it grows too.

"blessings of grace and peace be with you today."

Have a great day everyone ❤
