Hello Hive,

" Balut "
But I don't know how the vendor wrote the spelling of his "balut" maybe he spelt it in Cebuano way .

It is commonly sold at night time I don't know why but maybe it's a way not to disgust by its appearance when eating.

It's usually sold with salt and vinegar.

Vinegar used was a blend of different kinds of spices like pepper, garlic and chillies and typically used a fermented coconut wine for the vinegar .

To have a very good "balut" you have to choose the one you think that have the very tasty vinegar because what makes it delicious is the vinegar that complements it.

Some times when I want to have it I usually ask for the smallest size of embryo they have so I won't feel so disgusted because normally we can feel the feathers and even bones crunch when you're eating it.

Directions on how to eat it

first is you have to find the proper side for opening. Make a hole small enough to drink the egg broth (sometimes vendors put a mark on it just like what I have)
put a pinch of salt
add on vinegar,
drink and eat the egg whites
and peel the rest of the shell
lastly eat the embryo.

TAKE NOTE
Choose the well done cooked 'balut" if you want to try 🙂

You can have it also while having very nice drinks its good accompaniments.
