Ramen at Hotel Grande's Mizuki Restaurant

This is the last stop when me and some friends met one time. We have been planning on going to Hotel Grande when we knew it opened but there was no time to do so. Fortunately, we were able to go that time.

The hotel has a cafe, buffet and a Japanese restaurant. We didn't feel spending time at the cafe for it was almost full. The buffet was not open that time. The only left choice we had was the Japanese restaurant.

Upon entering the hotel, this is what will greet you, a Christmas tree that almost touched the ceiling. It's very Christmassy already.

Christmas decors are everywhere and noticeable. However, the decors are of the right amount for it is not overly done or lacking.

The decors give color to the industrial-type theme of the lobby and the cafe.

We then headed to the Japanese restaurant which was located one floor up.

I am loving the warm vibe and as minimal as it can be, the unique lamps and the greenery outside as viewed from the windows. It gives you that being close to nature feel.

We would have chosen to sit at the center of the room but the tables are too low. That's more like for coffee and other drinks and not for dining.

The other table to its right has no backrest. It's just a long table and long benches.

There is a sushi bar with red lanterns and hanging above it. Different Japanese beverages are on display as well.

There were unobtrusive Christmas decors on the walls. If you don't pay attention very well, you will not notice that they are Christmas decors.

There were some diners there that time but only the chef at the sushi bar was present so we helped ourselves to one of the tables by the window and waited for a staff to assist us.

Checking the menu, it was the ramen that we decided to try.

We decide to go for Shio Ramen, Sutamina Ramen (which the staff said was their best seller) and then Tonkatsu Ramen. We also ordered for Maki Platter. We only ordered three ramen that time because we wanted to see first how big is their serving for we might not be able to finish if each of us ordered. Also, we wanted to try the Maki Platter.

We didn't have to wait for long before our order arrived.

From the presentation alone, it was not impressive. It looks like it was rushed. I have noticed that the staff are busy. They always come and go. I was wondering what kept them busy that time. At least one or two should be there to man the area but they seem to be all over the place.

Could it be that the kitchen staff was that busy too that the food was prepared like this?

I couldn't present it in a better way so we just went for it.

We tried them all and they all taste the same except for the Sutamina for it was a bit spicy.

The level is saltiness is the same though which is a bit salty for our taste. I like egg noodles though for it is not soggy.

Unfortunately, we couldn't finish it all for we lost our appetite soon after that.

We waited for the Maki Platter to arrive but after several minutes of waiting, we have to wait a little bit longer for one of the staff to follow up on our order.

When one was available, we inquired about it and we were informed that the Maki Platter was not ordered.

With that, we decided to check out and left.

It was not a good first time experience. The food did not compensate for the overall not so good time that we were there. If I were to go back, it would stay away from their ramen. There are still lots of different things to try on their menu so I would still give it a chance.

This is another ramen fail experience.
