Birthdays are worth celebrating and when we say celebrations the first thing that comes to our mind is food.
Hello there Foodies Bee Hive community, hope all are safe and doing well. For today's content, I will be sharing some mouth-watering foods that most Filipino's prepared during birthdays.
Yesterday my sister-in-law turns a year older though she's living in the U.S already, still, we celebrated it together with the family here in the Philippines by preparing food. We prepared the favorite dishes of every Filipino family which the birthday celebrant requested as well. And to lessen the time preparing foods we all decided to just order a customized food package from catering services.
First, we had ordered breaded pork that came with gravy, aside from porks we also ordered sweet and sour made from fish fillet.
Aside from the ordered dish we personally made our desserts in two kinds, we made a fruit salad cake and our all-time favorite the mango float, topped of course with mango strips and layered with choco biscuits, mango strips, and cream.
We also ordered Embutido a meatloaf style dish made from grounded pork mixed with shredded carrots, sliced boiled eggs, and sausage that were wrapped around it. Usually served as steamed or fried but we advised the cater that we prefer the fried ones.
And the Chopsuey, the only vegetable dish among all we ordered. Mixed with a variety of vegetables which requested by my wife so that we have a green dish at least.
And of course, the dish that is a must-have on the table of every occasion regardless of any event which believed to bring longer life, because of its long strands, the all-time favorite dish of every Filipinos as well, the Pancit.
In the photo above everyone sings a happy birthday to the celebrant which by that time is listening through video calls. The celebration was attended by an extended family that happens to be our neighbors as well.
And there is this Lechon belly also made from pork. A small version of whole roasted pig, from the picture alone you could tell the crispiness of the skin.
And last but not the least, a birthday celebration won't be complete if there is no cake being prepared for the celebrant. With the family picture placed at the top of the cake, with icing written: "Happy Birthday Ate Disa, from the Philippines with Love".
