Delicious "Katla Macchi jhol":Bengal carp fish Curry Recipe with images

NamastešŸ™ Dear Friends, I am sharing recipe of Bengal carp fish today, itā€™s delicious dish I found ever. Step wise images is shared with this post, which help you to make it by your own. We are using mustard seed for making gravy, which is a traditional way to make it. This fish commonly found on our area, locally itā€™s called as Katla fish.
We always prefer big size Katla macchi (Bengal carp fish), which having amazing taste.

Note: - Please Donā€™t fry mustard seed paste on pan (It will became bitter in taste)
** KATLA FISH CURRY PREPARATION Step by step wise**
ā€¢ Bengal carp fish - 500g cleaned mid cut pieces (images attached)
ā€¢ 2 Piece Onion
ā€¢ 12-15 Garlic clove
ā€¢ One inch Ginger
ā€¢ 1 Piece mid-size tomato
ā€¢ 4 Tablespoon Mustard seed
ā€¢ 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder
ā€¢ 2 Tablespoon coriander powder
ā€¢ 1 Teaspoon red chilli powder
ā€¢ 2 Teaspoon cumin powder
ā€¢ 1 Teaspoon garam masala powder
ā€¢ 1-2 Whole red chilies
ā€¢ 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
ā€¢ 3-4 Bay Leaves (Tejpatta)
ā€¢ Mustard Oil as per need for cooking
ā€¢ Salt as per taste

Preparation Method: -
1st Step
ā€¢ Grind the garlic, ginger and mix small amount of water in it keep it on bowl

ā€¢ Take all powders in bowl and add small amount of water in to make paste

ā€¢ Grind the Onion, tomato to make paste, keep it on bowl

ā€¢ At last grind Mustard seed and keep it thin with the help of water, keep it on bowl

2nd Step
We will take cleaned and washed fish in plate and mix 1 teaspoon turmeric, Salt and small amount of ginger garlic paste for taste.

3rd Step
Now we heat Mustard oil in a pan and add fish to Fry on mid heat till the fish turn light brown as shown in image.
Keep aside all fried fish on plate for curry process.

You can also taste this fried fish with rice or without rice.
There are lots of people here who is fan of fried fish.

                 **Gravy preparation**

4th Step
Now we heat the mustard oil in mid-size pan on medium flame. First we Fry bay leaves and Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and red chilli on it and wait till the cumin seeds crackle.

5th Step
Add onion, tomato paste on pan and fry at least for 2-3 minute

Now add ginger, garlic thin paste on pan and fry it 3-4 minute till it became golden brown

Now add masala paste in it and then fry it for 3-4 minutes

6th Step
Finally we add mustard seed water paste in fried masala and add 5-6 cup of water in it immediately, we add some salt as per taste

7th Step
When curry boiled, we drop fried fish pieces in it. Now we cook it for 10-15 min more.

8th Step
Now your fish curry is ready to serve with rice or bread.

If you want best taste of fish than eat it cold not hot.
