A summer coffee? / ¿Un café de verano?

Hello. This is a "café bombón": coffee with condensed milk. Very simple and tasty for those with a sweet tooth.

The fact that there are very local ways of drinking coffee leads to confusing moments like the one I experienced years ago. It was at breakfast time, on a trip to a city in Andalusia. I asked for a "bombón" and instead of being served a coffee with condensed milk, I was served a chocolate on a plate. You can imagine the waiter's face when serving that kind of breakfast, and mine. Out of embarrassment, I said nothing and very stoically, I ate that small piece of chocolate while my head was dreaming (without coffee it had not yet woken up) of a simple coffee.

El hecho de que haya maneras muy locales de tomar café lleva a momentos confusión como el que viví años atrás. Fue a la hora del desayuno, en un viaje a una ciudad de Andalucía. Pedí un "bombón" y en vez de servirme un café con leche condensada, me sirvieron un chocolate en un plato. Podéis imaginar la cara del camarero al servir ese tipo de desayuno, y la mía. Por vergüenza, no dije nada y muy estoicamente, me comí aquella pieza pequeña de chocolate mientras mi cabeza soñaba (sin café aún no se había despertado) con un simple café.
