Food Diary: "Shrimp and Squid Soup, Some of the Exotic Foods Here in the Philippines

Shrimp and Squid are some of the popular foods here in the Philippines. Many people eat it and usually this type of food can be seen in Restaurants, Restaurants and even in Crowded places. They belong to the so-called Exotic food, its price is a bit expensive but it's worth it when it comes to its taste and deliciousness. There are various dishes that are cooked using the main ingredients, Squid and Shrimp. And at the beginning of my food blogging, I will share some of the dishes that can be cooked with Shrimp and Squid.

Shrimp or Pasayan In Local Name can only be obtained in the deep part of the sea. There are fishieries that culture it which is the source of businessmen and those who sell shrimps in the market. This type of shrimp is big and in fact, it is also the main ingredient in making Chichirya or Crackers.

In its preparation, the shrimps must be cleaned or washed well to remove the dirt that clings to them. Place in a clean container and dry.

While drying the Shrimp, Prepare the ingredients to cook it;

  • Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Other spices
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Clean water
  • Ginger
  • Shrimps ( The Main Ingredients)

👉 First, garlic, onion and ginger should be cut. Cut it Finely for easy cooking. This type of ingredient makes the dishes or food we cook fragrant.

👉 Put Oil in a pan and heat before adding Garlic, Onion and Ginger.

👉 When the Oil is hot, add and sautéd the chopped Garlic, Onion and Ginger. Saute it until the Fragrant smell comes out and it turns golden brown in color.

👉 Next, add the Shrimp and stir well to balance the flavor.

👉 When it turns a little red, add Vinegar and Soy sauce.

It can also be marinated for a few minutes before cooking.

👉 Add a little clean water as Soup for those who like to sip soup. You can also not add water and just let it cook in its own juice. Water is released from the body of the shrimp when it is cooked so it is still cooked even without adding a little water.

Add other spices such as salt to make the shrimp soup more delicious and tasty. Cover and cook it for a few minutes before serving to the table.

And this is our first dish, Shrimp Soup. It can be turned into a business and surely many people want to eat it.

Recipé No. 2: Squid Soup

The second thing I will share with you today is the Cooking of Squid Soup. It is also delicious to eat and this type of food is also often seen in restaurants, restaurants and in crowded places. There are also ingredients needed to cook it, but first I want to share my little knowledge about Squid.

A Squid is a type of sea squid that has many tentacles. It is often found in the depths of the sea and is only caught at night. It swims fast because of its tail-like body. It also emits a dark substance called Ata or black ink from the squid. They blow it to get away from the enemy or any kind of animal that wants to eat them. Here are the ingredients for cooking Squid Soup;

  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Ginger
  • Salt
  • Vinegar
  • Soy sauce
  • Other spices
  • Squid (Main Ingredients)

First, When the squids are quite large, divide or cut them into two pieces. Wash it well with clean water. It can also be marinated using soy sauce and vinegar for a few minutes before cooking.

As usual, chop the garlic, onion and ginger. Chop it finely for easy cooking.

Put some oil in a pan and heat it. Then, add Chopped garlic, onion and ginger in order. Fry it until it turns brown.

Next put the Squid and mix it well. Add seasoning such as salt, Soy sauce and Powder Spices. Add a small amount of water to make a soup and cook for a few minutes.
