Hello everyone! I hope youāre all enjoying a fantastic weekend. How do you typically spend your weekends? For me, itās all about discovering that perfect dish that feels like a special treat. But, of course, it doesnāt have to be something that drains my savings or stretches my budget. Sometimes, the simplest comfort food can offer the satisfaction and coziness I crave.
Today, I headed to Maxwell Food Centre, searching for my ultimate comfort food: hand-pulled noodles. Thereās something uniquely nostalgic about a bowl of these delicious, homemade noodles. I donāt stick to any particular brand or restaurantāif itās hand-pulled and freshly made, itās bound to be a winner.
For lunch, I ordered braised pork ribs with dry hand-pulled noodles. Given the warm weather, I chose the dry version to avoid burning my tongue. The dry noodles, while lacking the warmth of a soup, were packed with flavor from the braised pork ribs. The concentrated sauce infused the noodles with rich, savory goodness, making every bite a delight.
Alongside my noodles, I enjoyed a refreshing cup of soy milk with brown sugar pearls. This drink is perfect for the season. It's cooling, nutritious, and an affordable alternative to the more expensive milk teas popular with the younger crowd. I always request less sugar to keep it healthier, and itās great to savor a sweet treat without overindulging.
Altogether, I spent about $8.00 for this satisfying meal. Itās incredible value for money and a reminder that traditional comfort foods remain relevant even in modern times. Homemade and hand-pulled options truly offer the best in taste and satisfaction.
Hope you all get to enjoy some fantastic comfort food this weekend!
