Recipe: Sauteed Tofu, Paprika, etc

This time I want to share another recipe. I cooked a dish yesterday. The ingredients are quite simple. How to make it is not difficult. The main ingredient of this dish is Tofu. Are you familiar with tofu? In Indonesia, tofu is very familiar. Various dishes can be produced with tofu.

■ Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food prepared by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into solid white blocks of varying softness; it can be silken, soft, firm, extra firm or super firm. Beyond these broad textural categories, there are many varieties of tofu. It has a subtle flavor, so it can be used in savory and sweet dishes. It is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish and its flavors, and due to its spongy texture it absorbs flavors well.

Nutritionally, tofu is low in calories, while containing a relatively large amount of protein. It is high in iron, and can have a high calcium or magnesium content depending on the coagulants (e.g. calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, magnesium sulfate) used in manufacturing.

Tofu originated in China and has been consumed within China for over 2,000 years. It is also a traditional component of the cuisines of Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. In modern Western cooking it is sometimes treated as a meat substitute.

The English word "tofu" comes from Japanese tōfu (豆腐), a borrowing of Chinese 豆腐 (Mandarin: dòufu) 'bean curd, bean ferment'.

  • Paprika slices
  • Onion slices
  • Garlic slices
  • Chili paste
  • Salt
  • Sweet soy sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Cooking oil
  • Water

How to make:

  • Fry tofu with cooking oil.

  • Slice the fried tofu.

  • Saute onion slices and garlic slices with cooking oil.
