Most observant Mangaloreans will know this to be among the select Bombay sandwich centres in Kudla. The Anna here had worked in Mumbai for enough years to glean the secrets of their best sandwich-wallahs, & his creations are as close to the original as you can get in town.

Samosa cheese grill sandwich
We start with the whopper of the lot, their magnum opus if you will.
This double decker is enough to feed 2 tummies, just what we did. One might wonder if the thick maida crust of the Punjabi samosa turns a mouthful of this too dry, but it doesn’t, & pleasantly adds to the crunch. Likely that the spiced potato stuffing(replete with cumin & mint), alongside the 2 chutneys, juicy tomato, capsicum & cucumber, takes care of that. It’s grilled till crisp & blessed with plenty of grated cheese( & a promise to jog harder tomorrow). Cracker, if a tad contrived.
