Hola a todos!!! Hoy les traigo una receta muy sencilla de unas galletitas clásicas del Sur de Sudamérica.

Tanto en Argentina como en Uruguay hay distinas formas de llamarlas según la región, algunos les llaman biszcochos, otros masitas o simplemente galletas.
Estas en particular, en Argentina les llamamos "Pepas", en Uruguay "Ojitos".

En ambos paises se hacen comunmente con dulce de membrillo o dulce de leche. No estoy segura de que haya los mismos dulces en todos los paises, pero lo cierto es que puedes adaptarlas con cualquier mermelada y disfrutarlas con una rica merienda!

Hello everyone!!! Today I bring you a very simple recipe for some classic cookies from the South of South America. 

Both in Argentina and Uruguay there are different ways of calling them according to the region, some call them biszcochos, others masitas or simply cookies.

In both countries they are commonly made with dulce de membrillo or dulce de leche. I'm not sure if there are the same sweets in all countries, but the truth is that you can adapt them with any jam and enjoy them with a delicious snack! 

Qué vas a necesitar?// What you will need?

  • 275 gr de harina OOO.
  • 125 gr de manteca a temperatura ambiente.
  • Ralladura de 1/2 limón.
  • 125 gr de azúcar.
  • 1 huevo y 1 yema.
  • 1 cda. de escencia de vainilla.
  • 1 cdita. de polvo de hornear.
  • 200 gr de dulce de membrillo.

- 275 gr OOO flour.
- 125 gr of butter at room temperature.
- 1/2 lemon zest.
- 125 gr of sugar.
- 1 egg and 1 yolk.
- 1 tbsp. vanilla essence.
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
- 200 gr. of quince jelly.




















Cómo prepararlas?// How to prepare it?
  1. En un bowl y con la ayuda de un tenedor o una batidora integra la manteca, la ralladura de limón y la esencia de vainilla.
  2. Agrega la yema, la harina y el polvo de hornear e integra hasta formar una masa lisa, tierna y uniforme.
  3. Envuélvela en un film y deja reposar en la heladera por 30 minutos.
  4. Pasado el reposo sacalas del refrigerador y dales forma. Puedes hacer cilindros y cortarlas con un cuchillo o puedes ir formando bolitas con tus manos y aplastarlas un poco. Colócalas en una placa previamente en mantecada y enharinada.
  5. Cuando ya estén distribuidas en la placa hazles un pequeño pocito con tu dedo en el centro. OJO, SIN PERFORAR!

1. In a bowl and with the help of a fork or a mixer integrate the butter, lemon zest and vanilla essence.
2. Add the egg yolk, flour and baking powder and mix until a smooth, tender and uniform dough is formed.
3.  Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
4. Once the dough has rested, take it out of the refrigerator and shape it. You can make cylinders and cut them with a knife or you can form small balls with your hands and flatten them a little. Place them on a previously buttered and floured plate.
5. When they are already distributed on the plate, make a small hole with your finger in the center. BE CAREFUL, DO NOT PIERCE!

PARA EL DULCE // FOR SWEET:

Puedes usar mermelada de cualquier fruto.
Si usas dulce sólido debes hacerlo papilla. Esto puedes lograrlo colocando el dulce cortado en cubitos en un plato hondo, agrgas agua tiba a caliente y vas pisando hasta formar un puré.

You can use jam of any fruit. 
If you use solid candy you must mash it. You can do this by placing the diced candy in a deep dish, adding warm to hot water and mashing until it forms a puree.

TOPPING:

Con la ayuda de una cucharita vas colocando un poco de dulce en los pocitos que formaste en las galletitas.

  • Hornea por 15 a 20 minutos a 180 grados.

Estarán listas cuando la base este apenas dorada.
Cuando las saques del horno aún estarán blandas. Déjalas enfriar.

Y disfrutalas con un rico café, té o un mate argentino, uruguayo, chileno (quién sabe! jajaja) o un cimarron brasilero!

TOPPING:

With the help of a spoon, place a little of the candy in the little wells that you formed in the cookies.

- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 180 degrees. 

They will be ready when the base is just golden brown. 
When you take them out of the oven they will still be soft. Let them cool. 

And enjoy them with a delicious coffee, tea or an Argentine, Uruguayan, Chilean mate (who knows! hahaha) or a Brazilian cimarron!
