Hello everyone in Foodies Bee Hive community, I'm Dao Tam and I'm a newbie on Hive. This is my second post on Hive and first one on Foodies Bee Hive
community. I feel excited because I love food and I can learn a lot from other members in this community. Hope you enjoy it. And in this post, I would like to share how to make one of my favorite drinks, which is Honey-soaked Lemon With Rosy Pulp
.
Today is a beautiful sunny autumn day. But winter is just around the corner so I'm working on making honey-soaked lemon with rosy pulp jars for the upcoming winter using the lemon with rosy pulp I bought during my trip to Hoi An last week. Everything seemed to shine in the Sunday afternoon sun, it was so sweet and strangely beautiful.
The lemon with rosy pulp soaked in honey is very good for health, people often add a little ginger to soak at the same time. But I prefer the more traditional recipe with just the lemon with rosy pulp and honey. On cold days, just using 2-3 teaspoons of this drink mixed with a glass of warm water to drink every morning will cure respiratory problems caused by the weather and purify the body. Not only that, it is also a folk remedy to increase resistance, increase the immune system and improve the digestive system. What I like the most is that this drink can be made by anyone, it's cheap and it's 100% natural.
The honey-soaked lemon with rosy pulp is best used after a month, so if I soak it in late October, it will be fine in early December. It can be used all year round. In winter it is mixed with warm water, while in summer it is mixed with soda and some ice cubes added. It's superb!
Okay, let's start making a jar of lemon with rosy pulp soaked in honey right now.
Ingredients:
- 1kg lemon with rosy pulp (should choose the ones that are dark in color and are turning pink-orange)
- 1 liter of pure honey (I use coffee flower honey from my family's Daklak farm, the taste of coffee flower honey is rich and fragrant, making it very suitable for dipping peaches)
- 1 clean glass jar with tight lid.
How to make it:
- Glass jars are washed, rinsed with hot water to sterilize. Let it dry, and it's best to dry it again to make sure the jar is completely dry.
- The lemon with rosy pulp is washed individually, then soaked in diluted salt water for 15-20 minutes. Take them out to drain
- Use a paper towel or clean towel to dry each lemon.
- Each lemon with rosy pulp should be cut horizontally into 4 slices, not too thin. Then place them in pre-sterilized glass jars. Fill the jar with honey making sure all the lemons are submerged in the honey. Use a clean spoon to compress.
- Finally, close the lid tightly.
During the soaking process, the honey-soaked lemon jar will produce gas and foam. So in the first 1-2 weeks, every few days you should open the lid, remove the foam and cover it again.
Please wait patiently for a month. Do not rush to use it soon, the water will be very sour and bitter. Wait patiently for the best results. Good luck and have a nice day.
