FOODlog #393: Malaysian Famous Beef Noodles

Had dinner with my brother and his family tonight. We went to a famous beef noodle restaurant called Soong Kee. Their original branch is in KL's little China and has been serving their beef noodles for over 60 years.

Now they've opened a 2nd branch nearby where I live which is such awesome news!

The beef mince paste is so tender and smooth and so delicious when you mix it with their egg noodles. The noodles were springy and had such a nice bite to it.

For the beef soup, I ordered beef tripe, beef meatballs, and some beef slices which the texture was so unique. It was springy and tender because of the egg white and corn starch marinade which makes the texture different from just regular beef. It's a Chinese cooking technique to tenderise cheaper cuts of beef.

We also ordered stewed beef tendons that was cooked with five spice. Super tender and delicious.

Highly recommended place to visit if you're ever around and I'm definitely gonna be going back very soon 😄
