FOODlog #387: Banana Leaf Rice & Curry

Had a real treat for dinner today. My brother took us out for dinner at Banana Bros in Times Square.

The place looks so quiet as the town is yet to fully be packed with people but boy was the food delicious.

We had some banana leaf rice which is a typical Southern Indian cuisine that I absolutely love especially when the curry is done well like the one here at Banana Bros.

The side refillable dishes were snake gourd pacora, some cucumber raita, and spiced pumpkin. I think they forgot to give us the papadom but oh well. The curry and rice was good enough that I didn't even notice until after the meal.

I had my rice with fish curry and dhall. Man the fish curry was so good and flavorful. The consistency was nice and creamy and the dhall was super rich and hearty.

We also got some mutton curry, chicken masala, gobi manchurian, and some fried battered squid with onions. All super super delicious and will definitely recommend to others and be back here again.

Hope they will survive the pandemic repercussions and serve many more banana leaves.
