FOODlog #379: Jamaican Fish & Chips

Went out for dinner today at dined in at Chef Wan restaurant which is nearby where I live. I have been there once and had a good impression of their food especially the fish & chips which is what I got today.

I was a little disappointed because the fish fillets are much smaller than when I first had it a few months ago. The taste however was just as good as the first time I tried it.

The fish is a red snapper fillet which is firm and flaky and coated in a really crispy batter. I think it's coated with corn flakes. It has that sort of texture on the fish. Really crunchy on the outside and moist and tasty fish on the inside.

The chips were really really good. Fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and nice fluffy potatoes on the inside.

It came with a wedge of lemon, an in-house made tartar sauce and a coleslaw that had pomegranates and raisins. Really love the tartar sauce and coleslaw. It accompanies the fish and chips really well.

If the fish was like the first time I had it, I would really recommend this place to others to try it out. Portion size, a little disappointing this time around. Taste wise 10/10.
