La Mesa Restaurant

Yesterday for lunch I decided on some Mexican cuisine. So I headed to La Mesa Restaurant which I've been to before but not at this location. So it felt like going to a new place because the atmosphere was nothing like the other ones I have visited. It was much larger and more decorative.

Service was prompt, maybe the wooden statue of the man that was at entrance was really whistling. I was greeted immediately by whom I thought was the host but turned out to be my waitress. She brought me to booth and asked what I wanted to drink.

Maybe 2 minutes passed and she was back with my glass of water. She also brought chips and salsa. At almost all Mexican restaurants here its common to be served chips and salsa as a courtesy free of charge.

I was enjoying the atmosphere of this place. Soft not to loud Hispanic music played through out the restaurant. I took a look around and noticed a lot of unique art work. Each table had its own unique design. Also every booth backing and chair did as well. You see their were no matching designs anywhere. I rather enjoyed seeing all the culture designs such has cactus, sunflowers, birds, suns, and many others.

When the waitress came back I asked her about it and she confirmed to me they are all different. I laughed a bit and told her I was trying to find a match. She giggled and admitted she did the same thing when she started working there.

She takes my order and tells me that it will only be a few minutes.I took in the atmosphere again. This time I took some pictures of a chandelier. Above it was a sun roof and below it was a wishing fountain. I felt kind uncomfortable taking pictures so I didn't get the opportunity to snap one of the sun roof. The also have a rather long bar that I didn't get a shot of either.

My food is delivered to my table as promised by the waitress about 5 minutes later. I got the enchiladas rancheras. It include 3 enchiladas mixed with shredded beef, grilled green veggies (jalapenos & green peppers) and melted cheese. Topped with cheese and sauce. Served with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream.

My personnel opinion I give the overall experience 8.5 out of 10. The environment I really liked. The service was really good as well. The food was not bad either. I thought it would have came out with refried beans. That would have been a game changer because I could have used it as a dip for the many chips I had leftover. It's pretty common here that most Mexican restaurants include beans and rice with all of their entrees. I guess it's my bad for not reading the fine print on the menu 😂

Once I paid the bill I made my way to the exit. First stopping to get a peppermint and a tooth pick. I than took a picture of some special liquor bottles that were for sale. It looked decorative that's why I snapped not because I was thirsty and wanted to take a load off later, hehe. The last thing I did was take a picture of some vases on a book shelf.

Thanks for stopping by and I hoped you enjoyed my lunch time as much as me. Until next time!!
