This is the picture of the one I liked the best untill now. Picture is mine and used in the blog mentioned above.
So today when getting the groceries I saw this new one ( for me that is ) from “ de Kuyper” a brand I know because my grandfather dinks their “ jonge jenever “ which I don’t like at all.
Jonge jenever is a mout together with grain berries that make the jenever. It’s a very night alcoholic drink and for me a to biter taste. And a bit to much medicine like but that’s personal, so if you are a fan sorry for this.

But back to the one that caught my eye, this one is called “ FIZZY STRAWBERRY “ and yes, as a sucker for marketing, the clean white can with the strawberry plant and the lime on the can, caught my eye. And yes I bought it. The price for one can bought at the JUMBO supermarket is : 1,99
The can has 250ml in it and is 4,5% and the can said its best when chilled. The can said the drink is gluten free and vegan. Whilst I am not vegan and not intolerant to gluten this must be a great selling point.
I drink it with a metal straw and the fact that the can has a straw open wing so this doesn’t fall out. Yes very handy and not on all cans.
The overall result is that I like this. I can imagine that this firm ( the can says De Kuyper , since 1695 ) has a new generation and going with the brewing cocktails to compeed with the new boys on the block and getting rid of the image that jenever is for grandpa’s. And I would buy it again for sure ! The fact it reminded me of opa is nice aswell. Maybe the price is not competitive because it’s about 0,50
Cent more than the others I tried in the last months. But maybe that’s because jenever is expensive I don’t know.
Last but not least, the can has statiegeld, that’s a deposit for recycling. In Holland the plastic little and big bottles already had that and the cans follow at the end of the year.
I like that you can buy single cans.
