Hello Hive Foodies!!

It's been a while since I posted here, I got sick and was not feeling well for the past few days. Being a working mom its really hard to get sick specially I have to do almost everything at home. But lucky me I am finally fit and ready to share a simple recipe I prepared for dinner at home.

Lapu- lapu has been known for its choices of restaurants, covering a wide range of cuisines and budgets. You don't have to look far when it comes to quality food especially seafood. But since we are on a budget I decided to cook.

I have been craving seafoods for days now and lucky me coz a neighbor of mine was selling fresh fish and shell. So I will share to you Tambayang Shell Soup and Fried Kitong

Ingredients for Tambayang Shell Soup

1 kilo tambayang shell
Water
Sliced Onion
Salt
Magic Sarap all in one seasoning(optional)

Procedure:

Start by cleaning your shell with water, after you put enough water in a pan and put your shell.

Wait for it to boil and start to open.

Add the sliced onion, if you have ginger you may add also. But unfortunately I ran out of ginger.

Now add a pinch of salt, you may also add magic sarap an all in one seasoning, but this is optional. It is because the shell itself has its own special and flavor.

Now you are ready to serve it.

Fried Kitong or Rabbitfish

Kitong is one of the many species of Rabbitfish that inhabit Philippines waters.Rabbitfish are also known as Spine foots because of their venomous spines.In the Philippines local calls it as Kitong. It can be found around reefs and shorelines all over the country.

This is best cooked fried with simply seasoning it with salt and soy sauce. If you want something extra you may put pepper.

And you are ready to serve. Enjoy! Prepare a simple sauce of vinegar, soy sauce, calamansi and chili.

And of course this meal.wouldn't be complete without a bunch of white rice. Simple yet delicious meal for the entire family. It is always budget friendly if you cook and prepare food at home than going to expensive restaurants.. Happy eating!

I always believe that sharing a meal with your family is the greatest time you can have, in every meal you can share how your day went and talk about stuff. You may see it as a normal conversation but it is a way to reach out to your kids and just simply listen to them. Don't forget to share a bit of your day to your family.
