Hello Foodies..
In my family has a habit to eat dinner even though it has dinner, this is because indonesian family traditions since long ago like to gather in the family room after 8 pm to tell each other about the day, then usually interspersed with various snacks as a companion to chat more comfortable such as boiled corn, boiled beans, or sweet martabak. This time my choice of the night fell to the sweet martabak.

The delicacy of sweet martabak or Terang Bulan is no doubt. Martabak manis can be said to be one of the types of sweet foods that are much loved by indonesian people.

This type of food is widely sold with roadside carts that start to open in the afternoon until the evening. In addition to being sold in carts, this sweet food is also sold in places to eat that specifically sell sweet martabak as the main menu.

I stopped by one of the martabak outlets near my home, Janji Manis. Can be seen in the menu there are various types of martabak with a variety of toping. There I ordered martabak with peanut topping and chocolate meses, one of the most classic toppings of sweet martabak.

Martabak dough is cooked on a round baking sheet, before there is a gas stove, usually used charcoal fire to cook it, and do not forget to close so that the dough quickly cooked.

Once the dough is cooked, martabak is placed on a wooden cutting board to be given butter. Well this butter is usually used the best quality because it becomes the key in the delicacy of martabak.

After smeared with butter, then sprinkled with ground peanuts and abundant meses chocolate, and finally given sweetened condensed milk. And look very appetizing.

Martabak manis has a funny story, he said this culinary is able to melt and get the blessing of your boyfriend's parentsWhy? He said that in the past sweet martabak was an expensive food so that if they brought him to the establishment of a man, they would assume your bawha was mature enough financially to buy an expensive sweet martabak. Besides, in my opinion because the sweet martabak is delicious and never disappoints.

Have you ever been brought martabak by your boyfriend?
