In my area, Ikan Kembung or ‘Mackerel Fish’ are being sold in the market.
The price is also variety, ranging from 25.000 idr until 35.000 idr / kg.
Because have no other choice, I'm cooking mackerel in a different way than usual.
Often all the variations to cook mackerel fish is fried in chili sauce (sambal), but this day is different.
I saw a few recipes variant of mackerel fish and I want to try to cook Mackerel Steam Hongkong, initially I was hesitant to try, but ultimately successful, and it taste is so good.
We only needs some ingredients:
- Mackerel Fish
- Lime
- Chilli
- Shallot
- Garlic
- Selery
- Belimbing wuluh
- Ginger
- Salt
- Mushroom stock
- Oyster sauce
- Sesame oil
- Soy sauce
- 150ml water
How to cook:
Clean the mackerel fish with lime juice and salt, then wait up to 5 minutes and wash with clean water
Cut a small shape of chilli, shallot, garlic and ginger
- Steam mackerel fish for 5 minutes to dispose of fish waste, waste water the rest of the steam
- Heat the wok pan with olive oil, enter the first: garlic and shallot and saute until slightly golden brown
- Put chilli and ginger
- Put the oyster sauce, sesame oil, mushroom stock and salt, add 150ml water, correction of taste
- After sauteed cooked, put into a container of fish in the stemer, put selery and belimbing wuluh on top, cook on medium heat for 15 minutes
- Mackerel Steam Hongkong is ready to serve
Mackerel Steam Hongkong most suitable paired with warm rice. This food is very easy to try at home as a variation of the simple cuisine and has many benefits, one of which is as a source of protein from fish mackerel.
