Tarot Tuesday reading for the week of January 19th 2021

Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They're by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today's reading is for the week of January 19th 2021.

I know lately I've been using this little space at the beginning of my Tarot readings to shout out about Hive stuff, but I can't help it - I'm just so excited to see how things are growing on my favorite decentralized platform! So yes, I'm again taking a moment to tell my Hive friends (or anyone or really anyone who is on Twitter and is interested in chatting/reading about Hive) that today's #HiveChat #27 host is the always awesome @the-bitcoin-dood, returning for a second time at the mic after hosting #11. He has some great questions lined up, so be sure to check it out at 1pm EST (18.00 GMT) by either following his Twitter account, or taking a peek at the hash tag. We have lots of other exciting upcoming hosts too, including @threespeak, @pixiepost, @unklebonehead, and a little bee told me @hivebuzz might make an appearance as well! Be sure to check out the @hivechat announcement post for Hive Chat #27 for more information (and give the account a follow on Hive and Twitter to stay in the loop).

And now with that said, it's time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea - I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here's a quick breakdown on how this works...

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!

When you've decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don't be worried if you don't happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I would also like to mention...

disclaimer

Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself - whatever you need to do to focus. When you're ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.

Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don't see the picture of the front of the cards before you've made your choice, I'm putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. While this isn't my artwork or my quote, I did put the two together back last May after seeing a couple of versions of this meme floating around on social media without attrition. Many thanks to whoever got the original idea to combine the words of poetess Nichole McElhaney and the artwork of KushGraphic in such an amazing way!

Now it's time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards...

...and the messages for each card are...

1. The Hanged Man

Let go. Sometimes when you struggle to untie a knot, the more you pull at it, the tighter it gets. You’ve been tugging at a rope (an argument, a relationship, a situation) trying to get it untangled, but it’s only making things worse. Now it’s time to surrender, at least for a little while. Decide not to decide. Let things be for now. Do as the late, great John Lennon did when he was, "just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll. No longer riding on the merry-go-round, I just had to let it go." You might even find that when you stop pulling, the knot releases on its own.

Tarot Tidbit: The Hanged Man was last seen, in the third position, just last week, on January 12th, 2021. And as I mentioned in a quick edit to that post (about ten minutes after I published it) it was also my daily Tarot card draw for last Tuesday!

2. The Star

Make a wish. You've been to hell and back, but now is the time to put that all behind you. While you can't (and shouldn't) erase all the memories of the bad times, it's within your power to make a positive change for the future. Remember, sometimes luck ain't enough, you've got to make your own breaks. Look at the twinkling light in the darkness, close your eyes, and see your wish as already manifested. Can’t find the light? Pick up the closest mirror – this card is also a reminder that the one who is responsible for bringing the most light into our lives is ourselves.

Tarot Tidbit: The Star was last seen, in the first position, back on May 19th, 2020. Interesting that at that time, I mentioned that it seemed to pop up every month or so, starting on March 3rd, 2020. I wonder if this is the start of another monthly run.

3. Queen of Cups

Trust your intuition. Time to listen to your heart, and not your head. Sit, meditate, and reflect on all aspects of the situation, and try to figure out what makes emotional, if not practical, sense. This might also call for a hefty dose of compassion – sometimes simply being supportive for someone is all they need. Channeling your inner Miss Honey and using a listening ear, an open mind, and a bazillion hugs can go a long way towards healing and understanding.

Tarot Tidbit: Queen of Cups was last seen back during the summer, in the second position, on July 14th, 2020.

I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of January 19th 2021! Bright blessings to you!
