For the past 3 years, I've had this novel half written, and I realized a few weeks ago that the reason it's been so hard to write is that it's too many ideas and too much jumping between settings to really organize as a full novel...so I've cut it into 5-6 mini novellas/zines that I'll call it mini-books
The first mini-book is finished and contains 30 pages but it's rich! I feel so incredibly proud of the stories that have been channeled through me.
The story is about a man on the streets of somewhere or other, letting his mind wander to different places and times, through many perspectives, and even different states of being. Is he a modern-day city shaman or one of those crazies your parents tell you to stay away from?
It digs deep into dark thoughts and shows a raw healing process
I just put the finishing touches on editing. Next week I will set up everything for self-publication on digital formats and physical release.
I've asked @vincentnijman or @littlehyper-nm to take care of the cover art. I like what he has shown me so far!
I'm still not sure if it will be 5 mini books or more but it'll be at least 5. This is a rough schedule for release...
1st mini book: March 15
2nd mini book: Spring
3rd mini book: Summer
4th mini book: Fall
5th mini book: Winter
I'm excited. This story is years in the making. Parts of it have been released already and will appear in the second and third mini-book, but the first mini-book is almost all new material. So far I've only shown 3 or 4 friends, and I think it is my best work to date.

Present in many places at once, his conscious awareness was dispersed between them.
Clouds sprinkled the sky and he felt his fingers moving through them. They were just a bit damper than the air he passed through. He felt nothing strange about this situation, flying through the air at light speed between the clouds was second nature, just something he did when he felt like it.
Above reflected below, or was it the other way around? He could not tell up from down. It was all a canvas, and splattered upon it were deep purples and bright pinks, some blues scattered about and a brilliant whirl of oranges and reds.
The colors all flickered as he moved between them, the clouds temporarily filling his eyes, or whatever he was using to perceive this beauty. He felt at home here, though he would not be able to explain where he was or what was happening.
At some point, he started to sense turbulence. It began as a slight tremor somewhere beyond the horizon and quickly spread throughout the luminous splattered canvas below him. It echoed through the clouds before reaching his body. He lost control, violently and suddenly and everything disappeared.

A pothole.
It pulled him back into the world of form and separation, the place where his body resided. The bus driver announced the next stop in a nasally voice. His eyes opened lazily.
A middle aged women two seats ahead of him.
A puke stain on the floor.
A plastic bottle rolling towards his feet.
Condensation dripping down the window.
Red brake lights outside, distorted by water on glass.
The buzz of an engine
The buzz of an engine

The buzz of the wind blowing through his ears.
He returned to a brilliant mosaic, moving deeper and deeper into the depths of color. His body melted into them and he lost himself. The brilliant sun ahead of him, and a crescent moon, just barely visible behind him. It spoke.
“Do you remember me?”
